Take me down to the Paradise City... - by van HellSing

..where the asphalt's black and the cars crash pretty!Yup, Burnout Paradise hit PC finally. Good port, runs silky smooth here (Core2 Duo 2.2GHz, 4 gigs DDR2, 9600GT) at 1280x800, high detail, 4xAA, no ssao.
No DRM as far as I can tell, just a cd-key, not even a cd-check. Is this really an EA game? :PEDIT: OK I was overoptimistic and misinterpreted some stuff. It appears to have the usual EA securom, but at least they bundled the game with a deauthorisation tool. Still, no cd-check. Also, you can install the trial from the game disc.A download service, some annoying nagging to join online, not nearly as bad as gfw though. Autopatcher failed, oh well, they're supposedly working on it. In-game ads, hardly noticeable most of the time though. You know, at those speeds.
And man, this game is fun.
Free trial available, with the full area, all races/other events, two cars, time limit.

Everyone should play this. NOW.
Burnout is one of the best three racing game series in video game history (the other two being Wipeout and Crazy Taxi). If you don't agree, you're
wrong.
My only real gripe with Paradise is that the licensed music isn't quite as good as it was in Revenge. Aside from that, it's a brilliant piece of work.
[edit] Also, there's the upcoming Legendary Cars pack.

Burnout's always been fun, and is an utter blast when playing with friends.
I never did get Burnout Paradise, but now that they've patched race restarts in, I don't think I can resist getting it any more.

* are the bikes there? (they were added later as a free update to the 360 version)
* what's the age-rating? (I always thought the "3-years and older" rating for the Burnout games for X-Box were LOLWTFlicious)

Getting it now.
Does the demo have multiplayer support? I want to race some people.

1. Yes. Also all the other packs released so far.
2. PEGI rates it 7+
Also: this version allows for restarting failed events (or restart during an event you already know you borked). You no longer have to drive all the way back to the starting point. This was probably the biggest criticism of the game, and they went and bloody fixed it. How awesome is that?
EDIT: as for multi in the trial, it has the freeburn mode, which is kind of a non-competitive-free-for-all-goofing-around-mode.

I have Burnout 2, and Burnout: Revenge. Even my non-gamer girlfriend will race against me. Great game.

Burnout Paradise is the only racer i've really liked on the 360.. the sense of speed is great, love the openness of the world, hated the music though.

So, has anyone tried it yet?
P.S. It can be unlocked into the full game after buying a license key. Although I'd never buy anything directly through EA, I only trust Steam, GOG.com and Gamersgate.
