Everyone should play this. NOW.
Burnout is one of the best three racing game series in video game history (the other two being Wipeout and Crazy Taxi). If you don't agree, you're
wrong.
Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how
wrong you are. Only racing game which ever deserved attention(and was not a hardcore simulator) was first Carmageddon.
And Burnout? I played 3 back on my PS2, and it managed to hold my attention for exactly two days - lowest score of all PS2 games I had displeasure of playing.
Still, I probably will give this one a shot if I get bored enough. Assuming it has mouse steering, which I doubt. Since it's a console port.

Shan't be getting this for PC since I have played this brilliant, shiny gem of an arcade racer to death on my 360 - in both single player and 8 Player Freeburn Online modes.
Still can't find those last two SuperJumps, tho' :(

A clash of opinion? Oh noes!

Seriously?)

Carmageddon was great fun, and is one of my favourite games, but I wouldn't think it was the best racer ever.
(That is clearly Geoff Crammond's F1GP.)
Jason Moyer on 7/2/2009 at 17:41
Well, he said it was the best racer that wasn't a hardcore sim, and he could potentially be right there. I'd probably go with Porsche Unleashed myself, although some might consider that a sim.
TheOutrider on 7/2/2009 at 17:49
I did not, but if I wanted to go fast without laying waste to everything in my path I'd just get into an actual car. ;)
[edit] By which I mean that driving sims don't really do a lot for me. Geoff Crammond's, however, is a fine game in its own right. [/edit]
[edit v2] Also I just now got that you were referring to Koki. Nevermind then. [/edit]

Sounds cheap and safe.

You petulant goddamn dinosaur. I don't even
like racing games and Wipeout fucking rapes everything ever.

I think the racer I spent the most time with was the PS2 version of NFS:Hot Pursuit 2. The PS2 version was made by a different developer than the other systems' games. I unlocked over 95% of the entire game, and anyone familiar w/it knows just how much time and dedication that takes.
Though Burnout 2 is a close second.
