@cardia1 - There is a lock box in the elevator. Use the basement key on that. This is a puzzle so after you use the key, look around the elevator carefully. Once you get to the basement you should be able to proceed to the roof.

It's on the ground floor and when approaching it, Garrett tells you this must be the room (or something like that)

i just made it out of the room filling with water
i noticed that when the water started falling i was sinking i the floor so i had to jump around to get above the floor again.
i jumped on a crate so i could stay out of water till the door was open enough ; )

Ok, I absolutely cannot get the plate in Stephanie's room to frob, with / without the bug nest (this is the plate on the little square of carpet in front of an armoire. Have read Stephanie's note about feeding the frogbeast & taking the key & got the objective about the key being in her room.)
Is this the wrong plate or have I missed something?

Yes, it's the right plate.
Drop the bug nest in the plate.
