You need to go to the
Office of R. Hunter on the ground level floor. (I think it's by the fireplace / lounge area. The office has a portrait of his wife)Once done, you need to find
the two scrolls. One is
from arturo and the other is
a map addition.Look at the
map and compare them with
arturos letter.
It won't be immediate but it will have you going OHHHHHHHHHHHhhhh :joke:
You know, I just figured it out, about a minute or two ago. AFTER I got frustrated as hell
and started flailing about with my sword and managed to bash the door in./slaps forehead.:tsktsk:

@ SneakyJack - You don't need to go into the generator room at all but if you want to I suggest turning off the alarm first. You need to find the control room on the first floor of the mansion to do that. Then you should have smooth sailing.
@ Yandros - take the ladders up from the secret passage in the kitchen in the closet behind the ovens. This will put you where you need to be.

That makes sense, I thought the control was in the generator room. That may explain why I kept failing over and over without doing anything.
Thanks Tannar!

Silent,
There are a few things you have to do before you can get up to the roof.
1.
Explore the second floor.2.
Find a letter that suggests what you have to do in Stephanie's room.3.
Find Stephanie's room.4.
Do it.5.
Use what you find there to go back to the basement.

The author put something like "This mission can probably be ghosted though that isnt my thing" in the readable yet the forced ghosting has me giving up on this one. It looks like a great mission though :(
Don't give up, SneakyJack. All of the puzzels in this mission have very simple solutions. Maybe not obvious, but simple. If you find yourself stuck somewhere, there is almost certainly an easier way.
Once you are inside, it is possible to get to the Camera Controls without ever seeing a guard.
The mini-walkthrough:
1.
Find something in the wine cellar.2.
Use it in the laundry.3.
Go to the kitchen.4.
Go to the main hallway.5.
Take care of the security system.Oh, and don't be seen until
after step 5.

Thanks Balboa - I'm going to give it another shot later this evening. Thank you for this mini walkthrough, it should let me enjoy the rest of your mission :D

I pride myself having done everything on my own - EXCEPT FINDING THAT BOOK COLLECTION. I must be of great specific stupidity in that regard, but those maps and the X on the one map where a nice brickwall is located (I checked there from both sides) and the scroll with the numbers don't help me out.
PLEASE! Someone tell me what do , I'm looking for it for one long our and I want to go to sleep !

Outright spoiler:
Compare map numbers with book numbers.
