TDM Fan Mission: A House of Locked Secrets by Gelo "Moonbo" Fleisher (2015/05/28) - by Moonbo

I read somewhere about 2 dimensions and how you can't bring one to the other. Now St. Yora's key, well the statue itself, is it available in 2 different dimensions too? If so, the key under the statue, is it only available in one of the dimensions? Because where I am now, there is no key under that statue.

Hey Acolyte,
Yes, there are two dimensions and you can't carry inventory items between them. The key at the base of St. Yorra's statue is in the physical world only.

I've picked this mission as my first TDM game to try out and I am glad I did. It is really fun. TDM is definitely more difficult than T1/2, especially if you are discovered by guards. The cook in the kitchen is also a tough cookie.

The cook is very tricky. He was the only AI I had to blackjack in the mission.

The cook I am taking about is in the second mission and is a woman with a knife. She fights dirty. I am still very new to this game, so I do exceptionally poorly in sword fights. As for black jacking, if a guard has a helmet, forget about it. At least that "feature" is forcing me to be more ghosty. I've got the difficulty settings pretty low just so I can get my feet wet. It took me a while to start playing T1/G/2 games on expert.
Well, just about time to have at it. I think I am about 1/3 the way through the second mission. Solved the library and now working on the attic. I've also solved the chapel puzzle. Great game overall. Very challenging for me, since I am so new at it and the difficulty is much higher than T2. It's nice to be able to play it on a decent computer too. All of the issues I had in the past seem to be due to trying to run it on an old single core AMD 64 and XP. I'm now on a quad core Zeon with 64bit Win10. I have had 2 crashes though, but recovered the game without having to reboot. Funny things like a crash after hitting backspace to clear my hand of an object.
Edit: OK, I am dealing with the bad man Man, that dude is bad. I thought it was something easy like shooting the fire arrows at the heart. Nope... I'm taking a rest and will pick this up tomorrow or later. I started to look at spoilers, but got too many that were even further along in the game that I did not want to see, so I trying to be purposely stupid and forget what I saw. Sorry I cannot remember who posted about this, but how to deal with the bad man's heart is not obvious. I'll need to bum around more in both worlds to figure this one out. The other puzzles so far have been moderately easy. I've got 3 stone keys planted in the space rock world. Attack now done.

Hey bjack,
Glad you're enjoying the mission!
In order to defeat the bad man, you need to frob his heart :-).

I watched the YouTube video and saw that it was that simple. I was laying out mines, using fire arrows, bashing at it with the black jack, and shooting at it from the balcony. I'm now at the end part of the mission and know what to do. I think I've only found 5 of the secrets. This was a great first game for me and encourages me to play others. I should check out your prequel mission next.
Edit - Now trying to get a second out of a number of crowns in the first mission. I have to say that the forced ghosting is interesting. If a guard has a helmut, do not try to black jack them. I was not able to sneak past the very first guard in the guard house in Requiem. I tried many times, and finally just fought him and took the damage. Slow creeping did not help. He always got alerted. If got my setting on the most baby ones there are and these guys are still on their toes. ;) Nice work. Enjoying your first mission too. It is sort of cool to play these backward like this. Getting into the crypt and seething those funky fountain bowls again... Interesting though that the “church” was built as a cross. I thought these guys were “builders” not Christians. ;) Great work overall and thanks for making these!

Hey bjack,
I'm glad you're enjoying Requiem :-). Yeah, knocking out guards in The Dark Mod can be very tricky - that first guard is possible to knock out. In fact someone made a how-to video for Fen - here it is:

Thanks for that link and I will check that out tomorrow! It is pretty late right now, so I will not be playing. The “fire head” dudes in the crypt are super fun to try to deal with! I tried to deal with them earlier, but had to live life in the real world eventually. Those pesky real people and animals that want food... Anyway, good work and thanks for adding fun things in your missions. As I said, I am super novice at TDM, but I am getting better at it as the hours go by. I do like the forced ghosting, even if it is not forced per se. The guard area at the beginning was challenging beyond most T2 FMs, with the exception of the psychos that love to pave everything with ultra loud marble. :) I did leave a pile of “builders” in front of the church though.

Moonbo, this mission is simply a masterpiece. The last few missions released for DM, have been exceptional. So thank you for continuing that trend. I plan on playing this again. Is there two mission endings? Unfortunately, I overwritten my only save after frobbing the left statue mission end.
