I have an idea what you possibly missed:
There's a guy who took shelter in the house right to the one with the access to the sewers.
Examine the room he lives in.Direct spoiler:

is there something special required to get into the priests' rooms? I knocked one out, but he didn't have a key, and I haven't found one elsewhere. this is frustrating because I didn't have trouble with this step in the first release

I've encountered a problem with objectives; it could possibly be a bug. I'm playing on Expert and I have all objectives checked off except to leave the vicinity of the church. I assume that means go back to the city part or mission start? As soon as I leave the church courtyard, the objective to find the relic becomes unchecked.
Is this a known issue or a fluke? I reloaded to an earlier save and went through the motions of fulfilling all other objectives and still the "relic" objective becomes unchecked when I leave the church area.

Multiple people have already reported this issue. I guess the objective-scripts are somewhat messed up...

This is actually a mod-wide bug that we just discovered. Should be fixed next update.

I have a problem at the start and it might be my noobism with TDM. I've read the letter near the tavern about the key hidden up there in the pot. But how do I get there? I don't seem to have any rope arrows.
