Thomas Porter is back in a TDM FM called...

LQD is a medium sized FM, made for the TDM unusual contest 2013, where Thomas Porter sets out to get rid of the Lich Queen once and for all! Will he succeed, or will the evil Lich Queen get her sinister revenge on Thomas?
The mission was created by me, Sotha. Betatesters: Bikerdude, nbohr1more and Obsttorte are thanked for their efforts on improving this work. Big thanks to TylerVocal for excellent voice acting. Thanks to freesound audio artists: Amliebsh (39222), Steveygos93 (80401), Jackie4ever (83095) and Klankbeeld (133100). Immense thanks for the developer team and everyone contributing to the mod.
Release notes:
*This mission has player character narration. There is no way to control the volume of the player lines in TDM 1.08 and they are at 100% volume at all times. For optimal experience, be sure to set SFX and ambient close to 100% volume in the in-game audio settings and fine tune the volume to nice levels from you operating system's mixer. That way the world sounds match the player voice in volume and your gameplay experience is not reduced by very loud player narrative.
*This mission involves using objects with other objects. Normally objects are used like this: push R to drop the item into your hands, move the item where you want to place or use it.
*This mission has a video briefing, so you have the habit of skipping the TDM logo which is visible before the briefing, do not skip it or you will miss the briefing.

Do the undeads hamerites respaw in this mission? i just keep killing them and they seem endless
I fell into a hole when i hear a comment "Its a long way down" but nothing happened to me, i was suppose to die, right?

Yes the undead do respawn, and you should have died?? Have you gotten to the part where the undead carry on a long conversation with each other?

I guess i´ll skip this mission, i love the design and the atmosphere but i can´t stand the idea of having Undead respawing...its just unfair and distressing to me.

Speaking as someone who hates zombies/haunts/revenants and can usually only play undead missions in a tooled-up-steampunk-Gordon-Freeman-kill-them-kill-them-
all style, I initially felt the same way (and when I realised they could
relight doused torches as well, I thought it'd be impossible), but...it's worth sticking with. I had to do quite a bit of hanging around in corridors waiting for the moment when the revenants had their backs turned (not easy when there're sometimes three of them wandering around on random patrol routes), but I mostly found it enjoyably rather than unpleasantly tense.
It's an entry for an 'Unusual gameplay' contest, so it's not a sign of how all TDM undead are going to behave (I hope not, anyway). And the Shadows are really neat.

I agree if you wait and be patient it is fairly easy to finish this mission and only kill the Lich. I tried to kill the haunts or what ever they are called, but I restarted and was able to move around quite freely. I just found a corner and waited.:cheeky: And you are right about the shadow creatures!! You need to get caught at least once to see how awesome they are!!

Have to say I still clobber all the zombies - could be wrong but I don't think they respawn, just the revenants. And yes, the Shadows are great - creepy and otherwordly but not nightmarishly so. I have been caught by one and found it fairly easy to get away (loved how you have to
switch from carrying a light to having to hide in the shadows until they calm down), and the fact that
they throw stones at you if they can see you but not reach you is somehow
reassuring.
After reading the Treatise on them I thought they were going to be an utter nightmare, but it was (again) enjoyably rather than unpleasantly creepy getting round them. Mind you, I've only played it on easy so far.

I can't figure out how to get the cannon working. The instructions say to put the gunpowder into the muzzle, followed by the cannonball, but I can't put it in, the cannon doesn't select so I can't frob it. :(
EDIT: Never mind, it finally worked
