Acolyte6: Yep, that's the one - that error is *definitely* because your dark mod install is not uptodate with 1.01 Run the updater again and if necessary you may have to do what I said in another folder. It's fairly easy actually. The main problem is the nuisance of time and maybe stealing your bandwidth if you have a monthly download quota.
Do me a favour first. Check on the Dark Mod main menu I think it is bottom left. It gives the version number. I'd be interested to hear if it actually says 1.01 even though clearly you haven't got it all.

You're right, the version says 1.00 I'm gonna try it again..
I tried that other folder thing, but that didn't work either. A black box pops up, but then vanishes just as quick. I think I'll uninstall the old DarkMod and just download & install the new version!
Don't have a monthly quote (I didn't even know that still existed)... :)
Maybe the tdm_update.exe will actually work in the new version ?

The Dark Mod web-site has been hijacked !!! When I try to download the updater I end up on a site telling me I have spyware on my PC which I KNOW I don't !!
How do I contact the Dark Mod people?

Posting only to congratulate Fidcal for an amazing FM. This FM shows the great potential TDM has. Clasic Thief experience maximized :thumb:
Played it before update (which by the way makes big improvements to gameplay) and didn't run into problems mentioned above.
I wonder if the bow will get a decent aim sight in the future - I started to feel the need for one when I saw those damn spiders. Shooting at point blank is not always the best choice. (I was able to recover the arrows after killing them - not sure if it is bug or not)
Noisemaker arrows doesn't break the "better not anyone know you are there" objective. Very usefull at some points but doesn't feel right not break that objective.
I missed the objective with the secrets. Later you might wanna' spoil us with all 13 :p

I've finished this one today, good mission all round - Got; 9 Secrets and a little over 8000 loot. Good work.
I haven't played the update but I have noticed a few things worth mentioning if they haven't already been tweaked. I noticed quite a few misaligned textures which are quite obvious to the eye (atleast for me) Check around the top of the main stairs, along the double-door walls. There's also another in the corridor (with chambermaid's door) closest to the spiral stairs (noclipping through that specific wall will put you inside the spiral staircase). There might be a few more around. And in the grand-bathroom, the door for the closet goes through the clothes-rack

Now that I got DM version 1.01 installed it works...yay...
But I'm stuck. I've read the whole thread which I hate to do since I just need to know one thing, but I can't find a straight out spoil for where exactly the key to the garden is except near the garden door...huh?
Also, the 'old lock key' is supposed to go to the spiral staircase. What spiral staircase? How do I get to it?

I sure hope the bow gets an aim site soon... With all the other Thief games I shoot perfectly, with this one I always do a quick-save before shooting, cause most of the time I miss...except water arrows...lol

Also, I shot 21 arrows into the spider below & a fire arrow & it just wouldn't die. The one in the
other garden died with 1 shot. What's up with that? Tried a gas arrow too, but notta :confused:

Yes. You must light the lantern above after you lowered the Heart (look around for some switches). The spider cannot be killed before taking the Heart, so walk in the shadows.
