Thanks Snakebite. Dark Mod is 'open' so in theory anyone might produce a bow upgrade but the team decision was no sight. With practice you will get better with aiming the bow.
I'm surprised the noisemaker didn't break the alert objective. I don't think I ever used one in all my testing! That is unexpected. An alert is an alert so I wonder how that could fail - at least the low level alert objective.
All 13 secrets are listed in the dark mod forum thread somewhere and also Lady Jo has them on her website.
quakis: Yes, I'm not surprised. So many surfaces to check. Did you notice that gold/brass pipe in the corner of the stair landing near the bath door? That covered a misaligned texture I could not fix easily without re-doing all the stair area.
The closet door clipping I knew but decided to let it go. I can't remember but maybe there was not enough space.
Acolyte6: Sounds like you're progressing OK now anyway but the garden key clue is in the kitchen.

Texturing can be a major hassle at times, especially when you've aligned it all and then later decided to tweak the construction/layout. Or heck, you get so far into the level and, as you say, get misaligned textures that can only be fixed by redoing a lot of work. Enough to unmotivate sometimes.

Heh, second playthrough and I think I've found less loot but more secrets
7931 and 10 respectively, so far. Great mission Fidcal, the changes are subtle but well judged and there's just so much to do - having completed the objectives, I'm still feeling compelled to actually search for loot and secrets past the point where I'd usually give up or look for loot lists etc.
I quite like the bow... I did wonder if there are any real-life archers on the TDM team, because it immediately struck me in the training mission how much it resembles real bare-bow shooting. It takes some getting used to, but not much IMO, before arrow trajectories over various distances become second nature. I rarely use broadheads in my usual playing style, but when messing about I've found myself scoring headshots on the first attempt from all kinds of angles and distances more often than not. I personally find it quite intuitive, but maybe that's cos I shoot a bow in real life :cheeky:
It is hard to judge over extremely long distances though. Need a lot of practice for that. btw, was it Snakebite who asked about retrieving arrows? I believe this is normal, in my experience I've always been able to retrieve the killing arrow from a corpse (sometimes a glancing shot can make it look like the arrow isn't actually stuck in the target, but just floating or on the ground nearby). You can drop some targets with one shot, like an un-helmeted human (headshot), small spiders, etc. so you don't need to waste arrows. Bigger, tougher targets, or hitting a human in less vulnerable parts - this way will take several shots before the kill, and those arrows will 'disappear.' Also, yes it is correct that you can't kill the large spider - see Fidcal's earlier post outlining the ver2 updates for an explanation.

Yes, strengthening it arose this way. I mostly play stealthy so the tense atmosphere in that room as I tried to do the various things yet not be seen I really enjoyed. My nephew came over and while here he test played parts of an early version of Heart. It is quite a humbling experience when a hack and slay type player goes racing through rooms in seconds without comment that you slaved over to perfect for weeks and then immediately kills your monster from a safe height and runs around freely without any tension or atmosphere. After I managed to raise my jaw from the floor enough to speak I muttered "mmm... think I might make it invulnerable..." to which he replied "why?"

Yes. You must light the lantern above after you lowered the Heart (look around for some switches). The spider cannot be killed before taking the Heart, so walk in the shadows.
Well, I took the heart, but I still can't kill the spider & now I can't get out of the room because a stone block has fallen across the entrence. Now how do I get out? & how do I kill the spider?

Forget about the spider.
Jump to the hole from where the heart came from and mantle up.

I read it somewhere, but can't remember where. In the interrigation room there's the pit. How do I get it from not closing once I'm down there? Or is there another way out?

I already destroyed the heart down the well... I'll back up to an earlier save, but when am I supposed to destroy the heart ?
