Use the flashbomb to bring the hit points down of as many haunts as you can at once. Hopefully that'll let you hammer them into oblivion with less effort, although you may have to wait for them to calm down first...heh heh.

Oh, that's no problem. I like sitting somewhere safe, watching them run around in a rather confused way. :)

Usually a good way to take them down. Flash bombs are handy tools in undoing Haunts. Fire arrows are a good high damage alternative if you feel like playing through again hunting down npc's. If I recall correctly you can get them to drown at some point in the map as well via blackjacking them and tossing them into a pool of water.

i recomend, put a rope arrow in main area=wood ledge for a quick escape, then jump down to them, get them all to noitce you,run a round a bit then jump on rope arrow, get on ledge then in a hurry use flash bomb then 1 holy water with arrows untill inside area is dead, that is what i did :)
out side area is another story

Well, I did it (and the rest of TDP too)! Some hammers (as mentioned) and a few holy arrows did the trick.
Thanks for all the help.
Now I'm on to playing Thief II.

Hmm, it is possible to not doing the knockouts? I were unable to figure out how to get a knockout without actually hitting them with the blackjack. I thought that it might be possible to kill the guards in a way similar to that in RTC (i.e. throwing dead objects, such as hammers or similar at the guards), but I couldn't see how that would count as a knockout. So, I gave up on that one and took my damage.
It's a bit ironic that Garrett needs to practice knockouts when playing on expert level, but not on normal or hard. :tsktsk:
I'm now well into "Shipping ... and receving" and it's so far a really fun mission. Lots of nice thieving to do. :thumb:

Given that playing on expert forces you to make life easy for yourself by demanding 8 knockouts, you may as well claim that this mission is more of a challenge on hard and switch to expert from the next level onwards. Now all you need to do is find a way to clear a path for basso without blackjacking anybody.

That's true. Maybe I'll try something later, when I've finished all the other missions.

A Fast Way To Go Trough Return To The Cathedral:
On the start, go find your self a skull from the front yard,
then open the doors, and leave the skull so that the doors can't close, then grab the eye, and get out from the same way you got in
