Oh boy, what a fantastic mission! Very big part of the City to wander around and sightsee marvelous architecture. Definitely a top tier FM.
Playing on hard I found here that the warehouse/vault objective is available only on expert mode. Well, now I have a reason for replay.
I did have some issues though on TFix 1.27:
- some of the NPC models (thugs and the lady from the balcony orgy) had backwards textures
-> fixed by removing mesh/*.bin and mesh/*.cal that are duplicates of MODS/mesh/hipoly
- had terrible problem with very loud street lamps that just drove me mad
-> after failed attempts to adjust various snd_ parameters in cam.cfg I fixed this by extracting GLOWBAL2.WAV and GLOWBALL.WAV from snd.crf, then manually resetting the volume to 25% of the original, and finally placing both files in FMs snd\SFX folder.
Hope this one will get some minor upgrade to v2 (maybe with vault objective being also in normal/hard modes).

The "backwards textures" problem might have been addressed a bit earlier in this thread already; see (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149383&p=2479733&viewfull=1#post2479733) this post and the ones after that. Another possibility is that a bug that has been discovered some time ago has put the line "character_detail 0" into the
cam.cfg file of Thief 1. If you find this line in that file, change the number zero to 1 ("character_detail 1"), and the problem should be gone.
The lamps apparently
are louder in this town than usual; I also remember being a bit annoyed sometimes by them in this mission. That's why you could only reduce the volume by changing the sound files instead of using any volume related options.
