The first thing you need is to block the hatch. Use small barrel (the empty one in the corner near the 'noisy' grid).

So, take three crates and bring them to the street. Then push two barrels from the shed (where you receive the objective to sneak by a walking guard). The main problem is to make at least one of them to stand on its bottom, not a side. That's what you need to build:

If you make Garrett to 'float' in the air, use water arrow to fix that (choose an arrow, pull the string, then hit ESC). After you mantle over spikes, feel free to explore a new terrain :) You can go back the way you came in — over the wall.
Now, to get rid of the last guard (that spawns after you get the bag), you need to reach this place:

Is Lytha dead or something? I've seen her website, and some of the old archived posts, but I don't know where she is.
When I go through those old archives, I get all tingly looking at the words of our predecessors as they discover the quirks in the games and revel in thiefdom. It's like reading a hidden diary.
