Help! My (fairly old) DVD drive couldn't read the Thief 3 disc, so I copied all the files off the disc over our network (because a DVD drive on another machine could read the disc OK), and installed it from my hard disk instead BUT when I try to play it, I get a "No disc inserted" error message. What should I do?

The next bit applies only if you didn't get it. I suspect you did, but this is just in case.
Translation: He suspects you're a pirate, and he's trying to give you a hint without landing himself in it. Remember, who was it who first mentioned his website?
While I of course (and this actually is true for a change) know nothing about where to find a crack, I do know that a totally legal solution to your problem is to download the T3 Editor. That does not have the CD checks that are causing your problem.
You can dowload it at (
http://www.shadowdarkkeep.com/) Komag's Website. :ebil:

Or share the DVD drive across the network as a J-drive or something.

That won't work... I've tried it before.

Thanks, everyone.
I'm not a pirate - just someone with a rather old computer. :erm: My son bought me Deadly Shadows for Christmas 2004, and I haven't been able to play it yet, because my graphics card wasn't up to the required spec., and I just bought a new GeForce FX5200, only to discover that my dvd drive isn't up to spec either. :( And it is quite frustrating not to be able to play a perfectly legit game. :p

Couldn't you of just updated your DVD-ROM Drivers? :p

Um, I dunno, but it's working now anyway.:D
