Well, you have to install their software first. Not my cup of tea.

If their free software doesn´t have trojans and if it isn´t annoying you everyday with "Buy gold version" everyday... then it´s nice! Just need a little patience for another registration page...
Free TDS... Weird. I thought Steam was selling it ?

Free TDS?
No thanks.

For Thief.... I'd pay money. (That sounds weird)
I bought gold a few weeks ago. And it doesn't even run on my machines.
I laid down money for a game that doesn't work.
I love it!

I decided to try it. Now downloading at 233 KB/s.
Keep in mind, I actually considered buying a brand new Xbox just to play it back when it was launched and my computer at the time was incompatible with the PC version. Or vice versa.
EDIT: By the way, GameTap's (
http://www.gametap.com/play/gameDetails/000284750) Overview and (
http://www.gametap.com/play/gameInstructions/000284750) Instructions pages seem pretty well written for this kind of reissue. I was particularly fond of this phrase:
Quote:
"Deadly Shadows ditches the beloved Rope Arrows in favor of Climbing Gloves"...

I bought DS first, and realized I don't have a graphics card that works with it. I'm not paying $80+ to play a $10 game. So I bought Thief 1 and 2 (forget which was first, I think 2 was). Then I played 3 at my friend's house on his pimped out comp :D But if I try this gametap thing, it still won't play on my computer right? Due to my graphics card?
The Magpie on 18/5/2008 at 23:57
I'd think possibly not. It's bound to be more or less the same engine, even if it's a reissue, right? Only the GameTap edition naturally doesn't have a CD check. The game files seem scrambled, too, as I don't even recognize the file names.
That in mind, I haven't even yet gotten the GameTap version to work, myself. I haven't traced the error to a definitive graphics issue, either. I'm looking into it perhaps being a virtual drive problem. Anyway, I was seriously sidetracked when I discovered that GameTap offered (
http://www.moonpod.com/English/about_mr.robot.php) Mr. Robot as part of their "free" (yet ad-financed) package, so quite a few hours were lost there. I haven't discovered any evidence that GameTap is a trojan/spyware operation yet, Gambit. On the contrary, it appears reasonably slick.

What's with size? The original is on 3xCDs or 1xDVD. I wonder if the version includes (all) movies.

That's because it isn't, it is a legit operation.
