Figured I may as well post this here and hopefully get some suggestions.
I've got an Acer notebook and decided to install the thief games on it so I could play when I can't be at my desktop. Thief 2 runs just fine (no stars, but I can live with that, I guess) and TDS *seems* to run fine, but when I start it up, I get as far as the main menu then can't move the cursor to select anything. I can still click on things and get into the first mission. . .however without actually being able to see what I'm pointing at its quite awkward.
I *have* done a search of these forums and the only post I found on the matter said to update my video driver. . .which I did. It did not help. Nor did patching the game.
Any other ideas on how I can get this to work? I have most everything I can think of updated and the computer is *not* very old. I just got it for Christmas.
Its an Acer Aspire 3003 (3003WLMI) with a SIS M760GX video card (whatever that is). Direct x is all updated, and like I said, the game seems to work fine, other than the silly cursor.
I KNOW it runs fine on some laptops. . .since the first time I played it was on my mom's. (My desktop was too old at the time and I decided to try on a whim. To my joy it worked. lol Worked fine for the whole game, though I was limited to when I could play. Now I have my own and I want to play again!)
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated. :) thanks!
