The
Incriminating Evidence looks like sheets of paper and needs to be delivered to
the Over-Warden by dropping it in a drop box for the courier to deliver. The
Journal looks like a book and needs to be delivered to
Councilor Gravius by dropping it on the desk. OH thanks i got them mixed up ! lol

Quick question:
Can the key to the safe in the Administrator's bedroom be found on the "Castle Grounds" portion of the map of do I need to proceed to the next part?

Those are the three special loot items, so there must be a bug. Which one of the three didn't trigger a special loot message? Do you have a save from before taking that loot so you can test it again for me?
Ok, I started again from an earlier savegame and found the following:
I had retrieved only the skull and none of the other two.
The Goals said :
I said :
I double checked my inventory and the 'Skull of St. Brecket' was there !
"Ok, cool down ..." I thought and loaded a savegame where I had just picked up the skull ~5sec. earlier.
Checked my stats: 1 item found.
Then I made my way back to the 'Barons Estate' via the cellar route.
Right after transition from the 'Castle Grounds' to the 'Barons Estate' I checked my stats again : 0 items found !!!
I retried a couple of times. Seems like it is pure luck if the counter is reset or not.
But about every 2nd time I cross the map (from CG to BE), it gets reset !
I am not sure about it, but this does NOT seem to happen if I make the transition via the main entrance to the 'Barons Estate'.
Does that make any sense ?
@elkstoneThe key is not far away. Check the
bedroom

Thanks for checking out this bug so thoroughly, gnartsch! :thumb: There is a problem with inventory when crossing from one map to another, but I thought I had fixed it with a script. Apparently, you found a loophole when you saved just before crossing into the Estate. I'll have to look into that.
I recall that when I wrote my script to fix this problem, I frequently had to steal something (anything) to get my inventory to update. Could you please once more load your saved game, cross into the Estate, verify that your inventory is wrong, steal something and check again to see if your inventory is right or wrong? That should give me enough information to identify what part of my scripts are failing.

I tried the following:
- get the skull (1 item)
- steal something in CG (1 item)
- goto BE (0 items)
- steal something in BE (0 items)
So, it did not work for me.
Just to be precise: the problem is not the loot-inventory (which seemed always correct),
but the count of Special Items in the Goals.

Thanks. Good to know the Loot part is working. I'll check to see if I need to handle Special Loot in the same way.

This would be good, since all 3 Items are required in order to finish the mission on Expert ;)
EDIT:There is another bug that is likely to prevent completing the mission:
in case
Mercier survives the attack, then
YOU would have to kill him yourself.
However, doing so will fail the mission with the following reason: "Do not kill any non combatants"
On the other hand your goals say : "Mercier must DIE"
(recreated on Expert mode - in case this matters)
OK, I am done now with this mission - and I had a lot of fun with it !
Would be nice to hear from all you 'Flesheaters' soon again ! :thumb:

Councilor Mercier and the Over-Warden don't count as noncombatants. You should be able to kill them, if necessary, but I much prefer when they kill each other. I like watching other people do my dirty work for me. :cheeky:

Yes, I like it too. And I watched it a couple of times
Problem is : quite often Mercier (the guy in red) survived
and the Goals said, that he is still on my todo list.
So I took an arrow and took him down myself and got the following:
"Objective complete"
"Mercier is no longer a problem"
"Mission FAILED !"and the Goals said that I had killed a 'non combatant'
I retried a couple of times and it always fails the mission if I do so.
Killing the Over-Warden does not fail this objective, though.

That's very strange! I must have killed him hundreds of times while testing and never had a problem. It almost seems that these fan missions work differently on every computer, just like the problem with the special loot. What's really strange is that you see it going through one portal but not the other. Both portals work using the same script! I converted Mercier and the Over-Warden into combatants using the same script, too, so why does it work with one and not the other? :nono: There has got to be a reason for the different behaviors, but I have no idea how to pinpoint it. :p
