Kokes, while I do have some sympathy for your observational failures, you do realise I could turn that question around and ask you the same thing, right?

http://ttlg.com/forums/images/icons/icon15.gifYeah, but that would make you look like a tool, wouldn't it. Does it have head of a lion? No. Does it have a beak? No. Does it have tail of a lion? No. It does have the wings, I guess, in the same way Zelda CD-I has cutscenes.
So at least three out of four "What makes a Gryphon" points are a-no. It looks like half-mutt half-rat.

I... don't even have to reply to that. You've managed to outdo yourself. :wot:
Anyhow, there's some speculation over at the Gaf and EG that you might end up controlling the creature. Which would be quite a twist, and I don't see how well it would work, but it's a pretty interesting idea.

I'm sorry but I was expecting more. This looks like shit. There's a marsupial gryphon of some sort going on there, with gimped wings, and this little boy character. It looks like they married concepts from Ico and SOTC. I was expecting something more unique. I don't know, I might eat my words, but so far color me unimpressed.

Not a lion, but it has catlike features. The ears, eyes (sorta), fur around the face, even the movement of the thing, reminds me of a very large kitten with exaggerated ears.

Have you not watched the thing? (
http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nobeak.jpg) It very obviously has a beak.

You got me there.

Stunted, but yeah. Whatever it is, Gryphon, Catratbird, WUHHHHwut, is either a baby, had it's wings clipped, or both. But you can't deny the thing ain't got no wings.
Thanks for making me argue about Gryphons on the internet, Koki.
I think the one thing that bothers me most about the trailer, excellent as it is, is that the Gryphon looks more "real" than the surroundings. It stands out more, and clashes against everything else. Still, it's an early production demo, so I can't expect everything to be perfect.

Okay, you got me there. Assumed it's just a very dark snout.

The Last Guardian. That's the name.
I just saw the new trailer Jack Tretton played for it, and it looks... well, it's almost the same as the early video we saw, except for one major difference. It looks good. And by good, I mean better than the leaked video. Lots better. It's the sort of good that you could italicise, capitalise, bolderise, and say, "yes'm, that do be the stuff!" but don't need to.
So yeh, it looks good.
It's still got the music from Miller's Crossing, but I think it fits. There's additional footage at the end, and yes, the game looks pretty much like a cross between Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. No video linky just yet, but there should be one by tomorrow.
Over to you Kokes. You can whine about bloom and doom and the pervading sense of gloom this news affects you with now.

Ahh, a heartwarming tale of a boy and his what-the-fuck. Now shown in much higher quality. It looks like a proper sequel to Ico and SotC now.
Looks like IGN has an exclusive on the high res version, so you all have to settle with this for the time being.

God... This, combined with my current infatuation with the Rock Band: Beatles trailers and my wish to upgrade to Blu-ray, makes me think about getting a PS3 once again...
And then I remember that I would only get a Blu-ray player if it wasn't region-coded. Phew. :D
I'm looking forward to hearing some of the music written specifically for this game. I loved much of the music in the previous Team ICO games.
