Hey, I know this fan mission is from a long while ago but I've been playing (or attempting to play) though the Shadow of Doubt campaign
I'm getting stuck at Tears of Blood and rarely last long enough to pick the lock on my cell
Somehow, no matter what, every NPC in the area is aware of me being there and because one of the goals is to not be noticed at all, I instantly fail the mission every time.
I'm just wondering if there's any solution to this because its really bugging me, i've attempted to reset the game, reload the game, restart the whole campaign from the first mission and so far nothing works.

This is a new dark bug that causes the prison guards to be over sensitive when playing on expert. Both in the stand alone mission and the campaign fm.
Solution. Download and install Voodoo's dml fix found in his repository that is stickied in the fan mission thread..... this will also fix a number of other issues in the series. Note you need to instal it in you fmsel/SoD folder and not your main thief folder

the correct wording would be "improper settings on the AIs that didn't matter under oldDark, but cause problems under NewDark".
anyway yeah, the dml(s) from the rep will fix this (mission restart required).

alright cool, thanks a bunch
yeah i was looking around for the thread about the mission but couldn't find it anywhere, perhaps i just wasn't looking properly
EDIT: I should specify the thread for Shadow of Doubt not for just FMs

actually another question on installing the patch
DarkLoader, as far as i know, only wants to display FM's that are still a zip folder
Extracting SoD and then putting the new fix files into that folder is what im assuming i have to do, but if i do that then the FM doesn't show up in DarkLoader
I'm relatively new to the FM scene so this is probably just me being unaccustomed to DarkLoader but im not really sure what i'm meant to do here
again, thank you

you really should be using (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140093) FMselect to load fan missions - TFix installs a shortcut (in your root TG folder) that will allow you to enable it easily. then you just need to extract the fan mission into the FMs folder (either manually, or using the built in FMsel extractor), then drop the dmls into the Shadow of Doubt folder (or whatever the fan mission's folder is named).
using Darkloader is not recommended, especially if you are running a TFixed install of TG - TFix is not Darkloader ready/aware, and the chances of things breaking are therefore pretty high.

You CAN NOT use these dml fixes with darkloader, they need to go straight into a Thief folder, but you DO NOT want to put them in your main Thief folder as you have other dml files in there and you do not want to overwrite any of the original DML files..
Thus you need to play the mission via FMsel. FMsel is the latest mission loader that comes pre-packaged with Newdark patch, you already have it in your Thief folder (assuming you have patched with TFix)
Go to your cam_mod.ini folder and almost at the top you will see the following
; always start the FM selector (if one is present )
; fm
Remove the semi-colon from the second line so it just says
; always start the FM selector (if one is present)
fm
Now save.....when you start Thief again a new Mission loader will appear. This is FMsel and is superior to Darkloader in many respects. First you'll need to direct FMsel to both your Thief Gold instal and your mission folder, click on the blue cog on the bottom to the left of Exit, then go to FM Archive Path. Once you have selected the Thief folder path, choose your mission folder and just double click on any mission within that folder and FMsel will select the whole of that folder for your missions. it's a bit of a hassle setting it up for the first time though.
now with FMsel working you'll find all your missions are loaded directly onto your thief instal, unlike Darkloader where they were only stored in a temporary folder and if you go to you Thief folder and open up the FM folder you will see SoD is now in this folder (you need to install the mission in FMsel before you can install a dml fix) as will your saves, screenshots, etc .
To install the dml, FIRST instal SoD campaign, then go to your Thief/FMs/SoD folder and drop in the contents of Voodoo's 7z folder .....what you have basically done is given the Thief engine the instruction to run that dml, but only when it is playing SoD through FMsel/FMs/SoD folder

this is a dead thread and i probably shouldn't be bumping it
however, i've moved onto Nightcrawler now
installing the patch fixed all the problems i was having, up until now
during nightcrawler, specifically with the servants in the kitchen, i will get spotted and fail out of nowhere
it seems to be with the male servant spotting me through walls or possibly not, as i knocked him out with a gas arrow and was still spotted by something
i dont know exactly whats causing the problem or if theres even a fix
but you've all been helpful so far so i figured i'd ask
voodoo47 on 14/1/2016 at 12:51
why'd it be dead? it's just a few days old.
I think that servant problem has been reported in the past, but I was not able to replicate. try posting a save right before the situation and provide a detailed description of what needs to be done to see the issue.

I played it recently. If you managed to solve that issue with the servant, the guard on the upper floor is the next one. I had to reload about 100 times to solve this.
Try to lower the porticulis after walking up the stairs. There's a switch next to the stairs.
