Tech question(Thief Gold): Unable to properly re-map keys without clearing it all out - by xyzyxx

Wasn't able to find my answer in the FAQ.
I wasn't able to get used to the default controls in Thief Gold. So I decided to replace them with controls similar to another game, (
http://www.darwinia.co.uk) Darwinia.
One of these controls was to make SHIFT+W the control for "run". But apparently SHIFT was already taken by something called Speed Toggle which apparently is for walking
slower. No problem, I cleared out the speed toggle and then played. Works fine.
Later when I start the game up again, I find the the game has filled in gaps. Now there are three keys assigned to every action and SHIFT is back down there under Speed Toggle. I thought I could fix this by filling in the gap myself. I assigned PgUp, PgDwn, and End to Speed Toggle and restarted.
SHIFT has replaced one of the keys! I can't get rid of it! Any help?
Of course, there is a workaround. Every time I start Thief up, I clear out ALL the controls, and then load up my Bindings file.

Have you tried opening up the user.bnd with notepad and manually typing in your custom key settings?
Some of the settings disappear for some reason like quicksave/load.
If you do this youll notice there are a ton of editor key mappings that werent removed when the game shipped. Just ignore those obviously.
