Before you tell me, I have read the FAQ's. I just need some advice.
Alas, my old computer has gone to heaven. I built a new one. It has a Athlon 3200 64 processor (it is not dual core) and a PCI express NVidia 9750 GT graphics card. Pretty hot graphics card, but useless to me since it won't play Thief.
I have read there are problems with some dual core processors and thief, but I don't THINK that applies to just 64 processors, but I could be wrong.
Here is what happens: Thief boots to the intro screen but goes blank when you try to play.
Are there graphics cards anyone would recommends? I want to get one with 512 memory. Please respond, headed to Fry's in an hour with a mission ... must reunite with thievery.
Thanks in advance.

You need a GF 7800 or less to play Thief. Take your pick. The 8000 series and up wont play thief. I upgraded just before PCI express came out and am still on AGP so I cant really recomend anything impaticular .I havent heard anything about ATI cards. It has nothing to do with your
CPU as I have the same one. With my present setup I am still able to play even the most recent games with medium to high settings like STALKER and FEAR and since an upgrade for me means CPU,VC, memmory, motherboard and probably a power supply I am in no hurry. When I cant play my games on atleast medium settings it will be time to do the deed. There goes about $1000 US ....Good luck taffer ;)

Same CPU as you (AMD64 3200) using Radeon X700pro, PCIe 256mb graphics card.
Everything works just fine, even on high settings. Only thing I can complain about is one fan mission for TDS - All the World's a Stage. It is jerky and choppy, but not completely unplayable.
