Ummm, I see I need the envelope before I can get the key to the top floor doors but I can't find that either. Can anybody help?
Sir Lance:
In the office near the big fireplace downstairs, there's a desk. It is possible to open the doors on that desk.
Thanks schma - I missed that one!
Mission completed but did anybody find a use for the iron key?

It opens the case that the Bloodsword is in, in case you're ghosting or otherwise don't want to break the glass.
I am playing on Normal level. I have all objectives completed except leaving. I have the brass and iron keys but when I go up to the top level, I cannot open any of the doors. How do I get out of Amnesia? What key am I missing?

There should be
a small room on the upper level that has a man standing in it, a bookcase and I think a desk or table. There should be a key sitting on the table that will unlock the front door.

He's a Keeper, and the easiest way to take him out (or sneak past him to grab the key) is to turn off all the lights.
I have brass key and have gone upstairs...found Assassin and some goodies here and there along the way but....
1. Is that the room Nightwalker spoke of where I find key to leave with...it wasn't there as I haven't completed all objectives yet I guess? Found hole in one room and dropped down to find I couldn't get back up even trying to use crates, so I have to use elevator again.

2. Color me red but I don't know what magic I'm supposed to have with lockpicks?

3. So I don't need a key to get sword..but can just break the glass??? Geez :(

4. I thought when I found out why I was there...guess it's to steal sword...but objective didn't check off so that's not it? I did find envelope and destroyed it OK but that was a seperate objective and it checked off.
]
5. Turn lights off upstairs...where? I didn't get to all the rooms yet but where I'd gone nothing seemed to show up for me to do that...and I already had to put the patroling guards lights out as I couldn't avoid him seeing me when I got up there.

6. How come some of these dudes can walk through doors...and I can't even pick them open? Are these areas found through that other secret passage in stairwell down to kitchen?
I'm playing Normal mode. One thing happened real funny though...I was in the midst of trying to get rid of one of the lanterns and had it in my hand all lit up like a Christmas Tree and this one guard came out down the hallway on his patrol and I'm sure he looked right at me but acted like he never even saw me? I thought I was dead for sure! It was so weird, LOL Ta and Good Hunting!
The doors that open only a little are meant to represent the "rest" of the area, but aren't accessible to the player. Remember, this was originally a contest mission, and was made under that size constraint. Telliamed did this to make the mission feel larger.
Yes, you can just break the glass to get the sword, but that's not very thiefy is it? ;)
As for the questions about the lockpicks and the lights.... they are related *hint hint*
I suggested turning off the light to make dealing with the keeper in the small room easier.
