I have a spare machine sitting here. It's ancient, 2.5Ghz dual-core with 4 gigs of DDR3, and my connection is 5 megabits. Dunno if that's any help at all, but there it sits.

NZ is about as far away you can get from me if you want to remain on this planet.
But I've set up a test server that's hopefully available on 86.52.26.92 (default port/no pw, 8 player limit), mainly to see whether I can even host and if so how smoothly it runs.

I'm not a complete beginner but I haven't played the game in a long while (not since 1.1.2 was released) so if you don't mind playing with someone who didn't even know about hardmode, I'll gladly join the TTLG crew. Depending on the general level of the team, if there are things I should check out or learn before playing multiplayer (I've also only played solo), please do tell.
I just joined and tried WingedKagouti's server which works pretty well for me. A larger meet-up in the next days would be nice, if the performance is good I'm all for starting the server afresh with new characters.

I don't think there are any restrictions on who can join, nor should there be. 8 player limit doesn't even need to mean only 8 can join in in total, just 8 at a time is it?

Ok, it says I'm not using the same version as this server. I'm playing a Steam version, so assume it is up to date (I am using 1.2.1.2).

It's just 8 at a time, I'll probably set see how it goes with 16 later.

Terraria just got updated today while I was doing something else, so the server was on the old version (1.2.1.1) until a couple of minutes ago.
