I now consider Texas the second awesomest state (behind the mighty OH-IO). I would live in Austin, though.

just don't live on the south side. They had an IED find on an American highway near the mexican border no that long ago.

Legally, I can carry a fire arm on Texas Campuses. I just can not enter a building with it. And this law applys only to people licensed to carry a concealed weapon, one of the safest demographics in america.
I'm going to speculate that the safest demographic in America contains people who aren't carrying weapons

I um..."don't condone" his actions, but thats still pretty funny. Seeing a bunch suburban wannabe gangbangers piss themselves must have been hilarious.
That might have been funny except these were Memphis black gangster disciples. I guess, just going by the territory (Union st.) and colors. I didn't card anybody. Plus it wouldn't be his first run-in with them so it's not like he was oblivious. I was scooching low and thinking about how little metal is in the door of a 69 Camero. I never carry.

from the 3rd party's standpoint, that just makes it even more hilarious. Its always satisfying to see a thug suddenly lose his air of being "hardcore" and be revealed for the pussies they are.
Vasquez on 20/5/2011 at 05:51
So the non-pussy way to deal with someone randomly firing a gun is to stay and walk around as a target, or maybe even run towards the shooter?
I totally get the satisfaction of someone scaring the bad guys, I just don't find that "omg how funny it is to shoot guns around badass teens" -attitude terribly mature, especially from someone actually owns a gun. Tocky's cousin was acting reckless, stupid and dangerous, and it doesn't make it less so that he happens to be Tocky's cousin (sorry, Tocky ;) ).
CCCToad on 20/5/2011 at 06:00
Eh, not at all. Keep in mind that its relative to the gang mentality, where the general attitude is that they're all badass who are going to fuck up the next person who crosses them. In most cases the reality is different.
But, yeah, I do feel for Tocky. If I was in his place I probably would have been shitting myself and expecting to get shot back. Only reason its amusing is because I'm far removed from the incident.

Do it. Austin is probably one of the best places I've lived. Its almost as laid back as California except with better food and more guns. ( and a better flag. )

I think he would walk straight into gunfire without consideration of what was pussy or not. I love Rodney. He was my first friend and a lot of my first memories are of him. But being around him was like being around a grizzly with a flame thrower. He absolutely had no fear of consequence. I don't think he would purposely shoot anyone but he could set one hell of a stage for it. I had to explain they likely had mac tens they were working up the guts to get to and even if not then somebody would get his tag while he waited at the pickup window. Trouble with the law was what got to him I think and he groaned and cursed and burned rubber on his way out. He really wanted a bacon cheeseburger.
But it was funny later. We did laugh. I asked him to consider a bullet has to come down somewhere though and it could find some old lady or kid on a bike. It's not that he couldn't get it. He was contrite. It's just that he had no governer on his behavior. Never has. Although a lot of his personality rubbed off on me over the years I don't think any of mine affected him at all. I just wonder how many are like him and out there armed at any given time.

Tocky, great pic! You on the left?
Anyway, I was taught gun safety from age 5, and thankfully so was my daughter. It really gives you a sense of respect for the weapon as opposed growing up ignorant and just thinking guns are badass.
