Texture Pack update. - by John P.

NEW TEXTURE PACK VERSION.I was going to make this a "silent update", not changing the pack's version number, but have on Digital Nightfall's advice made it a new texture pack version.
If you have already downloaded version 1.0.2, the differences from it to 1.0.3 are small:
* Two textures that I forgot to add during compile of 1.0.2 added (zombie legs)
* "Compendium of Reproach" texture further updated
* Added textures for Warden and City Sarge
* Some window frames made darker
* Hammer Haunt normal map updated slightly
If you can live without those changes, you won't have to download version 1.0.3.
There's also a bit of "hassle" going from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3, in that you'll have to uninstall 1.0.2 before you install 1.0.3. The uninstall of 1.0.2 and subsequent install of 1.0.3 should only take about five minutes combined though.
My website is up and running again, so you can get it from there. And thief-thecircle.com will also host it, should my site go down because of bandwidth limit being exceeded before the month's end.

There, all done. :)

John P is my god. These textures are just so detailed and lush to look at.

Thanks - a little too detailed for some though. :p
He he - no, but in my next update (yes, there'll probably be one because of Windows Vista - gotta make my packs compatible some day if they aren't), I'll take those comments seriously and change a few og the textures that are too clean and try to emulate the originals a little more. It's just that in my previous updates, I've mostly added new textures or done only small updates to textures I've already remade. 'Cause it's not much fun totally redoing a texture you know you've already once spent a lot of time remaking. But next time I'll do so.

Hey John, excellent work as always, but I'm going to host these at fileplanet as soon as they are done downloading.
Thanks for the hard work, and I'm glad you stuck with it for so long :)

-On one hand, I'm happy for all the extra hosting I can get, as I'm spending my bandwidth like a madman as it is (as you can see by the temporarily disabled downloads at my site). On the other hand, the downside is that my site gets less traffic (ironic), and that old and outdated installers linger on for years on various sites out there. Not sure what I'm trying to say here, but... I'm happy but sad? Heh - I don't know. But I don't mind that people host the files, as long as my site isn't turned into cobweb- and tumbleweed city.

Umm, just use BitTorrent.

If it's traffic you're after, just provide the torrent files for download. This will keep people accessing your site but spare you a lot of bandwidth use.
About the old installers: This is something you must live with. Once you published a file on the web, it will get mirrored sooner or later.
IMHO BitTorrent is the best attempt to get people loading the newest version, as it renders mirroring on FTP or webspace or similair unneccesary. By publishing only the newest version .torrent the older versions slowly disappear from the broad majority of seeds - there will be some older versions avaliable of course, but by loading your official torrent people will always get the version you had in mind.

Hi john p.
If you want i could host the file(s) for you, while the bandwidth on your site is unavalible, and you can have a direct link to the file so that people will still have to visit your site to download. While it will help bandwidth problems, it wont effect any visits to your site.
