Well, that's funny about the osm. It's a minor factor to me if it only means the "found secret count" won't be tabulated. If it meant that secrets were broken (not accessible), then that would be another matter.
I went ahead and played a new game until I got a secret. It did give me the message I found it, but after reading your post, it may not count once I complete the mission. We'll see.
Still, a very fun FM. I'm taking a lot of time during my second play and finding loot I missed. Snake did a good job on this one overall. I especially liked that the loot requirement was reasonable. Imagine being forced to collect 3000? :joke:

Would you mind hitting CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+END to skip to the end of the mission and check the stats screen and let me know if its counting the secret you found? I suspect the problem has to be related to some players' installs not including the OSM folder in the root. If that's there correctly, the script should work.

Vfig, who made the secrets script, has kindly suggested a quick way to test if squirrel has been installed and is working correctly in your Thief Gold install. Play his FM, "Making A Profit" - if you don't have squirrel installed, it will teleport you to a room with a warning message. We will then know that the problem is related to OSM being either missing or incorrectly installed in your Thief Gold install. If you don't get teleported at the beginning of his mission, then something else is going on and I'll need to figure it out.

Funny you posted this. I just did it before seeing your post, just to see if I had a score. Forced end game shows 3 out of 9 found, so it works fine if the squirrel.osm in in the game root. To define that for my case:
c:\games\TG_New\squirrel.osm
vs what I initially had
c:\game\TG_New\OSM\squirrel.osm
Enjoying the 2nd play through.

There is an alcove above the Interpreter's tower that contains a readable. How do I get up there?

I downloaded your file and put it in the root folder, now on a new game I get secret notifications and the stat screen says "X/9" (instead of "0/0") - so this is a solution for at least some players having issues. thanks!
on a new Expert playthrough I've already found two secrets I had missed through impatience:
one in the inn and
one in the Hammer tombs.

You can do a little mantling in the empty alcoves near the interpreter's tower, climb on one and jump from there to the top of the opposite wall and then you can jump into the tower from there.

This is a combination of unused sound files from T1. The sound files were combined and used in The Scarlet Cascabel to create a “sermon” effect.

I played this mission and I was left with the impression that the author has a real talent for building Thief The Dark Project maps. I really hope he will not stop here and build some more maps. The atmosphere and gameplay of the mission are simply wonderful. This is a daylight mission which i recommend to everyone. It really left a strong impression on me. The depiction of the keepers and the place where they live is very well done. I really loved exploring their keep. The story is also very good and detailed. Congratulations for this nice debut masterpiece!
