What does the Portcullis key open? I never found a use for it. I finally finished on Hotshot, thanks to this thread and some help from a few friends. It's really a fantastic mission though perhaps a bit more confusing than necessary in a few spots. I think I'll go have a shot at doing it on Insane! :)

I'm stuck yet again. I guess I need to get into the Temple Of Knowledge, or at least the 2 locked doors situated to either side of the plaque that says "Temple Of Knowledge"
Regards the banners, I have found 2 of them that can't be slashed. They don't "look" like elemental banners, but I suppose they must be. So how do you know which arrow to shoot at which banner?
Questions, questions, nothing but questions.
At least I found a bullseye secret? on my own.

LOL...I went back to one of the banners and realized for the first time that all those squiggles represent a floral font and they spell out the elemental arrow required. LOL

To find the key to the Temple go into the Lab and search it VERY carefully.

Stupid question but how do you get into the basement on Insane? I have the hatch key but can't get access to the area where I found the hatch on Hotshot. Is there another key for the basement door somewhere?
Silly me! In answer to my own question, you get in to the basement through the passageway that also takes you to the Observatory. The lower part of it ends in a secret door to the Basement.

The basement? You mean of the castle? How else did you get in?

Wait a minute. I don't remember what difficulty I'm playing on. It's the middle one, Hotshot, I think. Are you saying that on Insane, that way into the castle is not available. If that's the case, I can't answer your question
I think I'm in trouble right now. I couldn't kill Ice-Freak so I lured him upstairs into the castle and did a quick run around and ran back down the stairs and frobbed the talisman to close the access behind me, leaving him stranded in the castle.
I then could explore the ice-room at my leisure. I found [SPOILER]the button that turns the lights off (no good to me now),
the golden book, some treasure, a hole in the floor, and a lever. I roped back down to the ice-room and took care of the multitude of guards, then found the water banner and, probably, the submerged area.[/SPOILER]
But I never got the key from Frozen Water Dude and went back to find him. Now the accessway is closed to me! I seem to recall in this thread another way back to the castle but I really don't want to plow through all that confusing information.
Do I just continue into the submerged area?

Yes, continue on. You'll find another way back up to the castle.
On Insane you have to find another way into the castle and I haven't so far anyway, found a way into the basement to get the loot down there.

Two Things:
1) Am I the only one who can't find the observatory? Please just spell it out for me - no more, "Look closely here" - just draw me a map and give me directions as to a 4-year old - thanks!
2) PLEASE PLEASE when you guys post a question and then figure it out before someone answers, don't just say "figured it out, thanks" - PLEASE tell the rest of us WHAT you figured out so we can get the answer we haven't found yet!
EDIT - OK, NOW I finally figured the observatory out - I was confused by the clues about "looking up in the route from the living room to the basement" - I thought the living room was either the main room with the dining table, or the room with the plants where the guy in yellow is sitting. Turns out it is the upstairs room with the chess board in it. Sorry for the rant.
