UliB:
hint #1: you can't open that door, you need to find another way to get in
hint #2: look for a secret passage in the library
Aspirin:
1. the key to the armoury is easy to miss, as the scroll says, Sergeant Marley has it. It's on the 1st floor, in a guard room behind the kitchen.
2. IIRC, the lady examining the statue in the Grand Hall has one key, the other is hidden. The location will be revealed when you get to the room on the 3rd floor.
3. What I said to UliB.

So, will someone let me know if the file at thiefmissions.com is the wrong one? I just added the single file that I was sent.

Just finished...what a great mission!

OK..I have destroyed the Ice Keeper and still need some help.
1) I was gonna use the key from him on one of the rooms I couldnt get into back in the castle but the door at the top of the stairs down the long hall is closed and I see no switch. Am I even on the right track ?
2) In the lab there is a gratw on the floor leading to wartery depths. How do I open it.
3) I just found a button
over the door in the ice keeper room but all it seems to do is
turn out the lights...why hide a light switch ?
Thanks :)

The file I downloaded first, I think on the 16th, was in the wrong language. The file on the site referenced by clearing is OK. I just downloaded your zip file again, and it is still wrong. All menus, etc. are in Russian. I can't explain why some people have success and I do not. Perhaps it is related to game version. I am playing Gold 1.37, American release. Anyway, if you replace your file with the one on clearing's link, it will be better. I would test the one you have first just to see I am in the Twilight Zone. This is the first time I have ever seen this....

Unfortunately at the moment I have a new rig and don't have any version of Thief installed. It's getting increasingly tough to get these old games running. On the other hand, Thief sure would look awsome on my shiny new big 'ol monitor, so I really should work on getting it going.
But the bottom line is that at the moment I have no way to test missions. I'll pull the version from the above link and compare it against what I have.
Edit: I did a comparison and the version I was sent seems to have the Russian pack already applied. I've replaced it with what I fetched from the link at the top of this thread.
