I just finished playing this gem and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's a treat to get a TG mission at all much less one of this calibre. It had so many places to explore and lots of nooks and crannies with interesting ways in. It's hard to believe you not only learned Dromed but built this in only 3 months! Thanks so much for the fantastic mission and I hope you'll build more. If you do and you need a betatester, I'd be more than happy to apply! :thumb:

Ohhh...alright, i´ll try to create some missions with a similiar to your missions and t1 style, still you should know that you have a bigger thief community at thief 2 .
I´ll pick up the Torch and will do the best that i can.
Cheers
He be ours now and we won't be giving him back! Melan! Back to work!!!!! *whip* :p

Thanks Nightwalker! I'm currently tinkering something but it's been very slow for the past few weeks.

Congrats on the release of this very fine FM! I've had a great time playing. :thumb:
I am proud to say that I needed only one reload on my first run (missed that jump into the open Keeper apartment window when I was at 3HP...).
I failed to find 561 loot on my first run. Some more scavenging netted 112 more (=449 missing). Gave up and used TTLL to see how blind I had been. 11 loot pieces missed! Wow, well done hiding them from me. ;)
Even with TTLL, I need help with the last two loot pieces, a silver nugget and a gold coinstack. They are in the same TTLL cell (X10 Y3 Z7) as the purple goblet and the golden plate on the desk in the Keeper apartment. The text file suggests they should be a little bit more away (in X and Y direction) from where the pagan book place is and ever so slightly higher up. Is there a secret Keeper stash in here or something?

Oh, and don't refer to the XYZ coordinates too much.
While they are very usefull, only users of TTLL know what you mean - but users could even have modified the size of the cells in TTLL.
So, it would be better to describe the location more precisely instead (
Keeper room in the south-east, high up, through window, ....).

@gnartsch: Thanks! I don't know how I could possibly have missed it, since I was specifically looking for something like that!

Have been catching up (chronologically) on TG FMs I'd missed before - so only just got to this.
Can't imagine being able to add much to the praise already made. Oh-so-explorable, full of crooks * nannies, & don't remember ever seeing such beautiful texturing using stock resources. But the best aspects for me were so well summed-up by shadows(

Great Stuff :thumb: :thumb: Really looking forward to your next release!

Just started playing this mission and enjoying it very much. Thief Gold missions really are unique in style and playability and this really demonstrates it.
BTW, if it matters Darkloader runs it perfectly after upgrading Thief 2 to v1.19. I think I read somewhere about what effect transitioning over to 1.19 would have on Thief Gold FMs but all seems very well. I wasn't sure if my T1 and TG missions would be adversely affected and they fortunately are not. This is the only one I have tried since upgrading though.
Thank you for making it!

Just played and finished Shadow Politics. Very nice! I spent over an hour alone in the side areas and exploring before I even hit the embassy. I still didn't get the
Sunburst device people are talking about, and it won't do me much good anyway since I've already disabled all the AI.. still sad that I completely missed it, though.
I'm also short over 800 loot of the full total. I've never been able to find all the valuables in any given mission, but for all the exploring I did, I feel kinda bummed out!
Another disappointment was that I wish picking up the main objects (scepter and book) would make a sounds or an "Objective complete" chime or something, but... nada. It just quietly slips into your inventory.
Overall, It was some great, back-to-basics fun. No insane -required- puzzles, no boss fights, no "where do I go now?" moments... just a nicely fleshed out chunk of the city and a pretty good (if not entirely resolved) story.
I say "not entirely resolved" because I feel like just about anyone who's readables I snooped through could have been my employer. The guy who invited the ambassador? The guard who hates Blackrock? The keepers? The woman who's been writing love letters (maybe she's lying about her affections)? The ambassador himself? Given how backstabby and world-of-grey the residents of The City are, everyone's a suspect and I couldn't help but feel like I was being used or lied to -as usual-, though I didn't have to worry about that, apparently.
