A bit of everything: climbing, sewers, caves. Nice architecture. Great T1/G atmosphere.
Good, classic gameplay. :)

I say "not entirely resolved" because I feel like just about anyone who's readables I snooped through could have been my employer. The guy who invited the ambassador? The guard who hates Blackrock? The keepers? The woman who's been writing love letters (maybe she's lying about her affections)? The ambassador himself? Given how backstabby and world-of-grey the residents of The City are, everyone's a suspect and I couldn't help but feel like I was being used or lied to -as usual-, though I didn't have to worry about that, apparently.
I agree about the story; I even hesitated to steal Whitehall's staff because of it, but eventually I did anyway to finish the mission.

Fantastic mission! Loved everything about it - TG, terrific architecture, lots of exploring, very good use of height (love rope arrows), interesting story. Just the right amount of challenge but not too much. I enjoyed this more than any mission I have played in the last few years.
Thanks for a very enjoyable time. PLEASE make many more misisons.
If anyone has not playyed this mission (and you like TDP/TG), download this one and play it this weekend. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome mission skacky! Personally, my opinion is a little biased because I prefer TG over T2 & this FM had a solid, back to basics classic feel.
Beautiful architecture and very smooth layout! I ended up finding about 3700/3900 loot after 1:45 hr gameplay and I went over it a few times, searching as thoroughly as I could and got stumped on those last few trinkets:grr:. I thought it was really neat how a few areas were only accessible by window/rooftop. Another thing I enjoyed is the readables weren't excessive (although a nice story/mystery is great for the right mission), which kept it old school.
A few things that could have been different imo: I would've liked to enter the priary (instead of just that little room with the secret compartment revealed by the switch next to couch) because I LOVE hammerite churches, probably my favourite atmosphere in Thief. Also, some kind of notification or cue when you pick up the staff and a "x secrets found out of x" at the end, because I'm not even sure how many there were. I also wondered about the purpose of the pagan leafsie spellbook
All in all, I'd give this mission an 8/10, I know you probably aren't planning a sequel, but I would play it! Thanks alot for investing your time and releasing this work of art!:cheeky:

Thanks for your comment, glad you liked it.
Priory: I ran out of terrain brushes so this is why you can't enter it. There was a little section planned here but it got scrapped.
Objective sounds and secrets: this is something that was introduced in Thief 2.
The book: it doesn't serve any purpose other than being an objective.
You should probably play my next mission then, Between These Dark Walls. It's not a sequel to Shadow Politics but it's another TG city mission with very vertical spaces.

First - Excellent mission Skacky! I have a lot of fun watching the architecture.
Second - Loot. You are a sneaky bastard! I'm playing almost 4h. and can't found all loot. :)
Is there anyone [margotbean or klatremus maybe?] who found all the loot in mission [lootlist maybe]?
I have 3585/3900 and I don't have idea where to look :(

Glad you like the mission! Here's a video walkthrough with all the loot found:

Hi, just started playing this fm and I keep stuck in places, for example, if I crouch close to a window or where there's an angle on the ground. I try every move I can make and sometimes I'm able to get free but other times I have to reload.
Is there a solution to this? I do have TFix the latest update.

Shadow Politics is really good, fantastic architecture and gameplay! There are lots of opportunities for vertical climbing. The embassy looks impressive, especially its entrance hall. There are several semi-hidden areas to discover: I especially liked the cavern with the craybeasts and the locked room with the unfortunate Hammerites who starved to death. Books and scrolls in the mission make numerous references to characters from the original missions (deNavan, Bram Gervasius, Brotherhood of the Hand, Bafford, Ramirez, Lord Raputo, Lady Valerius, Downwinders, Reuben, Donal), locations from the original missions (Blackbrook, Dreckboun, Cyric, Bohn), other fan missions Order of the Vine, Lampfire Hills), and even to Looking Glass staff (Brosius, Pearsall). Finished on Normal in 59 minutes with 3284 of 3900 total loot.
