I just got this e-mail and wanted to share the info with you all:

I use GOG for TG and T2. Its great, easy to intall and upgrade to multiple locations for various projects, fms, etc
ummmm, oops? Meant to put this on Series General Discussion if a kind and sympathetic Mod wants to move/dupe this thread...

I bought Thief Gold thinking that if nothing else, it comes with the soundtrack.
I don't know if I would actually use it over my existing retail CD version because I've heard that GOG use Newdark to make TG work on modern machines.
Considering that the next time I play Thief Gold I am going to attempt my first ever ghost playthrough, I really don't need the over-sensitive AI.
As well as all the other errors I have heard about, that stem from running the game in an engine designed for a different game.

How 'bout we take the guards out completely?
Better yet, let's make them blind but not deaf!
The NewDark not only makes it better on modern machines but for modern FMs and OM mods as well.
Happy Taffing

Or conversely why not just play with a mod that makes the guards see through walls and into pitch black as if it was the bright spot in front of a fireplace.
I want to ghost the official game with its official AI routines on the official Expert setting - that is the level of challenge I have set myself.
I do not want to ghost to a harder level. And it may not be possible to ghost some sections as it is, without potentially increasing the number of impossible or near-to-impossible-to-ghost sections.

TFix should fix the oversensitivity issue (fixed vs old).
