America is full of poor people. Democrat and Republican supporters alike. Stop being a twat and do something about it.
Of the 47% of US folk Romney consider no hope victims the largest slice are Seniors who have worked all their lives. The rest are made up of service men, students - tomorrow's middle class in training - and a hefty slice of rural folk who work hard but don't attract city wages that would propel them on to the federal tax bracket. Fed taxes being very progressive - as opposed to state taxes.
Most entrepreneurs aren't big earners either, for that matter. Too busy investing in their businesses, trying new things and paying wages.

all that stuff
I didn't build my life, government did? I am where I am today because my family cared about me, and gave me the support that the government did not to ensure that I had the best chances I could. If you argue that government programs raise people, then I'll counterpoint by the number of dropouts and failures. Government doesn't build your life, it offers paths with which you can build your life yourself. And even then, there's significant debate over the quality of American education and the failing of American infrastructure. If the government is gonna claim responsibility for my life, then it better start repairing and improving the methods by which it does so, because I'm BETTER than what the government provides for.
All the things you mentioned are bare-bones public services that no-one but the staunchest libertarian would oppose. Yes, I'll gladly pay taxes for police and fire services, for reliable power and plumbing. No, I do not want to pay taxes so that homeless people can get their GED. Yes, I want to be free to voice my opinion. No, I do not want people to be arrested for throwing away a LBGT newspaper (happens at Cleveland State University). There's an acceptable level of government interference, and Democrat policies steamroll right past it.
And the Republicans may be behind on proper social policies, but I'd prefer having no social policies and be free to make my own way, rather than have to wade through a sea of restrictive legalism and misguided protectionist laws.

Who do you trust with the economy, people who make money or people who are poor?
Those guys who crashed the global economy a couple of years ago you mean?
Well, they made money along the way.

The weird thing in the US is that Republicans keep calling the Democrats "socialists". They are not. Both parties are right-wing, in the opinion of the rest of the world. You have absolutely nothing in the US that resembles socialism. The Democrats are far-right-wing, and the Republicans are extreme-right-wing, with an even larger dose of (

Yeah, that has always made me laugh. As a (non-violent) european left-wing anarchist, that is.
Still, America has made the good choice in electing the less bad pretender, in my opinion. I was really surprised to see how many states supported Romney on that CNN map, it was really impressive.

I AM DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT TWAT-FACE. I work my butt off and put in overtime hours every day so that the 60-70 people in my company have a great paycheck each month. Don't you think it makes me a little mad to see unemployed, lazy, un-educated crazy people voting to spend more of my hard-earned money? It's no better than highway robbery.
I know how to best run my life and manage my own money, thank you very much.
DDL on 7/11/2012 at 18:19
Well shit yes, if everyone could get off their arses and run a company that employed 60-70 people, everything would be sorted.
Now all we need to do is find those 60-70 people (per person). I am almost certain this can work.

To keep middle income taxes high relative to the rich, increase military spending and invade other countries creating loads of veterans to look after.
Yeah, burns your biscuits I bet.

Huh? You don't make any sense at all. What's your point?

Haha, I guess you missed the point. Each of these people earn the money they make. My point is that I work as hard as them, if not harder. I don't just ride their backs and sit back and enjoy the profits.
So yeah, I want everyone to get of their asses and get to work. Maybe you can explain why that's wrong? No, you can't? Figures.
