no, if the custom resources use orig names and a pre-NewDark FM loader is used, which seems to be exactly the case here. as I've mentioned before, the solution is simple, use FMsel which will get the priorities right.

Many missions were created before Ep or Tafferpatch that use new textures as a replacement to the original thief textures, and as i speak many players are playing them without realizing the textures are wrong. :p

the only solution is to tell them to use FMselect instead of whatever loader are they currently using. same as with SS2 - anyone attempting to use the old (
https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=11.0) modmanger/FM loader will be advised to use FMselect and/or Blue modmanager. no support for outdated tools.
the old stuff is not (fully) compatible with the new stuff, as simple as that.

I use Darkloader and i have not this problem
But i don´t use the NV or EP patch, because i like the original thief 2 textures the way they are.

The installer that comes with the EP places it into the resource load order after the game's main directory.
In other words, the EP should never override resources from an FM (though there may be slight discrepancies if an FM includes a texture but not the model which uses it; however, most EP models keep close to the original UV mapping.)
If the EP is overriding FM resources, then someone is installing it wrong.
Presumably, the various patcher tools (TafferPatcher, etc.) install it using NewDark's mod_path instead? If they're going to do that, then as others said, they need to use FMSel instead, because mod_path overrides resource installed by other FM loaders.
So, this is a configuration error on behalf of the players.
Either install the EP the old way if they want to use an old FM launcher, or install it the NewDark way and use NewDark's FMSel.

I think the majority of people use Tafferpatcher to install T2 these days. So if I'm understanding correctly, Tafferpatcher is likely not installing the EP properly? This is something that DJ Riff could fix for the next version of TP if he was made aware of it?

I haven't checked, but the assumption is that it's installing it via mod_path.
It's hard to say if that's "wrong" as such. It's the correct way to install mods for NewDark, but in this case you need to use the NewDark FMSel instead of e.g. DarkLoader.

As a non DromEr just a playing fan I would like to just say a HUGE thanks to you Cardia1 for all the missions you have made over the years, without you and many others my gaming life would be very much the poorer
So it grieves me that you felt badly hurt by this conflict issue but am pleased to read that you will continue to entertain me and so many others over the coming years
I guessing though there can't be many other games out there that have been going for so long and had so many patches, updates and modifications, so conflict between the various patches is quite possibly an issue that you and others may have to deal with as time goes by..... there are some great people in the thief community who have a deep understanding of all these issues and I suspect would have no problem giving help advise to you and others whilst building your next mission, rather than trying to resolve the issues after release
I look forward to your next, conflict free, mission with anticipation...:D

I've never had a problem with DarkLoader. I've used FMSel. Works great, also, but I'm a stubborn old coot.
I just wish Telliamed would update DL like he promised.
