...hm, no, I don't think I was.

you should get a good lawer or similair.
I'm a bit sorry. Almost a year ago I had to get a low profile regarding my game project. Very low. So low that even Garret could become jealous. I don't want to get into the details, but for a summary: As a german student I can get some money from the state, but only if you are younger than 27 (last year), are nowhere employed, have no sort of income or some sort of buissnes. But my activities looked like that, although they were completely private and at that time still non profit. Now think about countries and money , the fiscal authorities figuered, that I could make some money with it. So I had two options: Doing only my studies or only my game project having had no degree at that time yet, you can probably tell what decision I made - so I had to freeze everything on the project, which included also the promised stuff :erg:
Nevertheless: Starting with 2008 all those privileges are cut and I _have to_ do some buisness for a living. The dedicated server I intended to rent almost one year ago will be setup on april 2nd this year (so I hope).
Additionally I'm currently coding a small something for the TTLG and Thief: DS and DX:IW community, I'll announce the final version in a separate thread:
"schema_garret" which is a klein but fine program to browse, filter, dump and listen to the sound files, subtitle and briefing texts found in the SchemaMetafile_*.csc files in $gamedir/content/$gamename/sounds
I already got a preliminary, command line only tool and am currently adding a GUI and SQLite3 based data management for detailed selection and renaming support.
For those interested in the current stand (and clumsy, quick and dirty C code, that currently probably only compiles under Linux) have a look here:
(
http://www.cip.physik.uni-muenchen.de/~Wolfgang.Draxinger/stuff/schema_garret/schema_garret.tar.bz2)
See the README for details.
I'll definitely create a GUI version, that also runs unter Windows, but give me some time, though the current stand was written within 12 hours or so (with some coffee breaks and playing TDS between) I'll probably find time for the next development bunch not before first week of April.
Now you may wonder why I even did this. I said it would be possible to pack the whole Thief: DS in one map of my engine, and eventually I'll even try that. But for the sound I needed some taffing tool, and schema_garret is it.

So this program of yours will play schema files? I've always wanted a tool like that in order to create a Thief 1/2 soundtrack.

Would that work for System Shock 2 scheme files also?

There was already a tool that provided GUI browsing, playing and extracting of sound schemas, called Sound Drone, however I can't find a copy of it on Google so perhaps developing a new tool is warranted.

I don't know, since I haven't yet looked into the file structure of SS2, as I don't have a copy of that, schame on me.
Currently I have only tested it on Thief:DS and DX:IW.
For Thief 1 and 2 I never had a too detailed look into their structure. Those .crf looked like ordinary .zip to me.

I found some remains, a ToDo list, on the web, but no executable. My program is licenced under the GPL, so if development by me stagnates people are free to contuniue the work on it,
