The Abominable Dr. Dragon (01/04/03) - by Nightwalker

Hello!
I went through the portal gate South of the drawbridge. The woman and servant ran off, and I used up a dragon tooth to take care of the black-clad archer. Took the Horn of Quintus, some gold from the water, and a gas arrow from the corner of the dock. Gleefully turned to run through the red portal and...
nothing. I'm just standing on the other side of the darn portal. What am I missing?
Thanks!

I don't think you're supposed to use the Portal. I played on ACD and I had to get back to where the mission started for it to finish. I don't know about the other difficulty settings, though.

Sorry, I should have clarified that I'm playing on "ACD" difficulty :)
I'll stop worrying about it then - thanks, Nightwalker!
Cheers,

Hello,
I am at a loss when it comes to dealing with the ghosts in the graveyard. I'm playing on ACP.
I can backstab the single ghost patrolling back and forth easily enough, then leap into the grave nearest the gate to wait until the three that emerge go back into their tombs. I tried using my single remaining holy water (and 4 water arrows) on them, but it's not enough. Obviously, I can't backstab them while they're entombed. If I leap over the trigger plate and press the middle skull (the only I managed so far) a ghost comes in for the kill and I'm done for. Help?
Thanks!

They are immune to water arrows. Holy or otherwise. If you dont have any broadheads or rope arrows to shoot them with you could always just sit them out or get a moss arrow for the inside by the skulls so they wont be alerted when you jump in there.

How to avoid the graveyard ghosts.
There is one initially. He is easily bypassed - just walk quietly behind him or stay in the shadow. Douse the torch by the "interesting" tomb to give you plenty of dark cover. Two others may come out, but only if you make excessive noise or if you brush against one of the tombs they are hiding in. Take the route on the side of the open graves, staying close to the fence and behind the tomb. As Chief said, moss the inside of the tomb and jump in to avoid triggering the trap. Thus, all encounters with the other two are avoided, and the first one is slow enough that you can easily get around him.
He isn't attacking the air, he is trying to kill the armory hatch to no avail. He can't reach it, and never will. Its kind of strange.

I just started playing this one, but I had to come here and give a round of applause. I don't think I've laughed this hard in an FM before....
Have any of you tried
blackjacking one of the red skulls? I couldn't resist it, so I tried....I wobbled off into thin air, for the life of me I'd swear it looked drunk!! It slowly wobble-spiraled down and took a drunken tour of the courtyard before finding a comfy spot and tottering there. And it still is....
I am going to have so much FUN if this is any indication :)

I played on expert level the first time around, and I saw one Thief attacking another Thief there, and the guards just standing by next to this fray doing nothing.
It actually prompted me to go and Blackjack them all without worry, since they obviously weren't paying attention to anyone else.;)
Is there some way to take care of those annoying Phirannas so one can explore around the back side of the moat? I was up on the top of the castle and saw something "red" moving on the grass in the back of the castle....
