Has anyone else ever noticed that AIs in the thief games walk with three footstep sounds, rather than two? When someone is walking you hear "stomp, stom-stomp". That is, there are two noticable footsteps played at almost the exact same time. What causes this? Garrett doesn't walk like that.

I don't know about you, but humans tend to have separate heels and toes. Or perhaps the toe part of the guards tap shoe is missing.

This sort of sound is most noticeable on tile floor or the standard stone. On carpet or grass... not so much.

Yep. Heel strike to toe strike, with variations in length of time in between, and echo, scuff, and drag. Walking on metal has four human variations, two of which don't have the distinct heel-to-toe, though, yet all the others have audible double-strikes--when isolated form all the game sounds. Sometimes it's very quick, and sometimes it's not. An actual double-play for one foot would be a bug, and should be fixable, since it's not a common Thief issue.
