So should scotch be sold in bottles separated into half watered down and half not on the proviso that drinking the watered down/non watered down bits are optional?
--edit--
Oh hell, I missed the obvious retort.

my sister likes it on the rocks (watered down).
Eww! Mush!
or Maybe - ahh, scotch supports modding tools. Depending on how you look at it I suppose.

The scotch comes from the same bottle.

The rocks don't.

Sure, my sister decides to add rocks to it. My brother doesn't mind her doing that. He still gets his scotch as he likes it.
Both get what they like. :thumb:

But the scotch company is just making scotch. Not scotch on rocks. And arguably a scotch company would be a wise scotch company not to branch out into scotch on rocks and just, err, focus on delivering top notch scotch. Maybe the way to please most people isn't to add optional features, but to do one thing and do it well.

My brother and sister only ever choose the best top notch scotch.
The company have not branched out into "scotch on the rocks" as the scotch in the bottle is still their finest scotch.
But, as with all drinks, one can add a dash of this and a dash of that, if one chooses to. It won't make the scotch any less the quality scotch that it is.
All it does is cater to your personal taste.
I'm getting psychologically drunk now. :D

Point-Counterpoint, if you put coke in a single malt scotch I will materialise in your vicinity and murder you.

The scotch company isn't providing catering for you sister's rocks though. How many rocks does your sister like? Does she prefer distilled? Does she go for soft peaty water or hard water? These are things that might addle a Scotch company, with terrible results.
Oh god coke.
Ahh, the Laphroaig brand fizzy drinks division. What could go wrong?

And I'll hold your coat.
At least I understand this conversation.

I agree the scotch company might not be catering for my sisters rocks, the amount of rocks she likes, or type of hard water etc.
But they do know that some people prefer to dilute their drink. That is a decision my sister makes. But at least the company doesn't wish to prevent her from adding rocks. If they did that, she wouldn't be able to partake at all because she hates straight scotch, its too strong for her.
Likewise, my brother wouldn't be able to enjoy his straight, undiluted scotch if the company just catered for my sister.
This is a wise scotch company. They provide their best scotch in the one bottle to do with it what customers will. Both my brother and sister can enjoy the scotch, as is their pleasure.

I'm safe then. I really don't like scotch. :cheeky:
