I just saw part of the rpgplanet Q&A that said the guy who did the dark brotherhood questline also did the arena.
I did the arena first and was very pleased. I loved the ambient cheering outside during fighting hours as well as the dank bloody tunnel with a dull roar leading to the battle pit. The announcer was great as well. It being my first guild, I was happily surprised at its overall quality. Of course, then, I got to the Dark Brotherhood which put the rest of the game to shame (in a good way).
If you are still browsing the forums, you were responsible for my favorite parts of the game! the whole team did a great job. I played for 130 hours on my first "throw away" game and just started over with a better character (now that I know how this game differs from Morrowind).
Its our nature to focus on the negative so I hope you guys are getting plenty of "att a' Boys!" for a great job on gaming done right.
Thanks for not going quick, cheap, and easy on this one. This is the first game I have paid more than $19.99 for since Thief 2 on its release day.

Thats just.....sad..........

I fail to see what's sad about it. Lately I've been finding myself reluctant to pay $50 for games. I only buy games that I'm sure I like - I've erred twice, buying the remake of Sid Meier's Pirates (it wasn't what I was expecting). I can't even remember the second.
Nowadays, I mostly enjoy buying old games which I know are very, very good.

Well, I was used to getting all my gifts as just cash, so I was used to just paying expensive games, frankly i really wanted to go back and play old games, but then it has trouble on the computer.......I ask dad for some help..........he punches a hole through the computer......and well, the nostalgia gamer thing just isn't working for me.....

130 hours thrown away? *gasp* I could never do that.
Sure, I choose alchemy as a major skills and have got 10 of my 27 levels from it, a mistake...but I've yet to encounter a monster I can't defeat in some way (save Umbra, who is friggin hard for a reason).

Yeah, when you wait a year or two before buying them, you know if the game will be worth it or not, critical bugs are worked out, price drops. :)

I didn't mean throw away as in a waste. I meant that my first character in most RPG's is a throw away character. He is my dummy/test that I use to figure out all of the facets of the game (the way things work, etc.) There were many differences from Morrowind that I didnt expect. Usually my throw away characters are in the 2 - 20 hour range. When I said it lasted 130 hourse, I meant it as a compliment. I kept forgetting that my character was poorly build and continued playing (of course the battles kept reminding me, but I was having too much fun to start over.)
The great thing is that Im on my second character (around 30 - 50 hours of gametime, my wife is playing, and her brother is playing. It seems everyday one of us is finding something the other hasnt seen)
I'm also playing all the games I want to, Im just not paying release prices for them. I wanted to play Chaos Theory, so I decided to wait for the $19.99 price point, but ended up finding it on clearance for $12.99. I'm sick of buying lies from comapanies so I wait to buy (this is a long rant of mine, so I wont go into too much detail) But I knew Oblivion was worth paying full price for. I consider it my vote for quality games made by great artists. There are alot of games im interested in now, and a few on the horizon, but none that I consider worth paying $50.00 for. I'm one of the biggest Thief and DX fans out there and I waited both DX2 and T3 into the bargain bin (I think I actually got DX2 for $10 and I still wonder who got jipped? :) ). I do a lot of research if Im thinking about paying more that 20$ for a game. I used to buy everything that looked halfway decent as soon as it came out. Besides going into debt quick, you can probably tell I have been burned quite abit. I think I single handedly was responsible for changing CompUSA's return policy back in the day. Now im more patient... Sort of.

That also has the advantage that you're only out about $5 if the game isn't any good.
