I got it too, and I've only played just past the golfing mission. Looks good so far!

From the look of it, Gay Tony seems to be bringing back some of the silly fun (in terms of gameplay and story) that the series dropped to some extent with GTA 4, which is probably a good decision.
(By the way, now that there's a budget edition of Saint's Row 2 for the PS3, is it worth getting the game? I have to say I'm a bit of an elitist pretentious snob type when it comes to the "Hur hur, spraying shit at people!" humour in the trailers, but then again, I enjoyed the GTA 3 titles. Any recommendations for SR2?)

Yeah I had a lot of fun with SR2 for about 2 weeks, but never finished the story. I'd say it's well worth ~20euros. Will defenitely go back to it some day, after I've gotten bored with Gay Tony and his new multiplayer modes.

Over the last few days I've been shooting down military helicopters with my automatic shotgun loaded with explosive shells, basejumpnig out of officewindows, blowing up yachts, trains, constructionsites and airplanes. I've been mowing down NOOSE agents with my machinegun and blowing up their trucks with stickybombs. I stole one NOOSE tank and one train. I've become good friends with and excitable arab who gave me a goldplated Uzi and a Rolls Royce. I've been ambushing convoys, and driving dirtbikes off skyscrapers. I've hit the nitroboost in my sportscar as I was coming up a hill so I jumped over at least 5 cars in a row. Oh, and I've also been playing The Ballad of Gay Tony. It's a lot of fun.

I tried starting GTA4 from scratch a few months back and just couldn`t get back into it again. Not sure why exactly either. On my first play through I absolutely loved it. But once you know whats already going to happen in the storyline it just takes half the fun out of it.
I agree that San Andreas was way better also. But the feeling of immersion in a real-like world is far greater in 4 which is one of its greatest strengths imo.

Ok, so my fave multiplayer mode in GTA4 is GTA Race. Then when Lost&Damned came out it came with it's own tweaked version of the mode that let you swing a bat while riding your bike and just generaly made the whole thing more RoadRashy. When I found out that the singleplayer races in Gay Tony let you use nitro I started looking forward to racing in multiplayer after I'd finished the game. However, I also noticed the remote-triggered stickybombs and worried what happens when griefers get their hands on a weapon like that, but I quickly concluded that "naaah, R* won't include the stickybombs in multiplayer". Well... they did. And thereby they have managed to give griefers 10 times more power and make the GTA Race mode a lot more unplayable. I can not believe this shit. Does R* not play their own multiplayer? Did they not know what would happen? I'm not one to usually make melodramatic statements like this but in Gay Tony the GTA RACE MODE IS FUCKING RUINED
FUUUUUUUUUUCK
Ok.
I finished the storymode yesterday. Short but sweet. I've finished all the basejumps and Triathlons but probably still have a few Club Management and Random People Standing Around In The Street missions to go. And Deathmatch is still fun, even moreso than earlier thanks to the new weapons.

bloody hell I still have an unplayed GTA4 sitting in my games cupboard. I havent got around to installing it because of 2 things
1) rockstar social club, is this as bad as people make out?
2) I'm still in love with San Andreas and I dont want to ruin it by playing GTA4
with the new addons sounds like it could be a better game experience.

I enjoyed GTA 4 a lot, but yes, installation and setup was a headache on my rig, and I usually have no problems of that sort whatsoever. Also, the game lacks a lot of the features of San Andreas; if you preferred dicking around in the game world to following the plot, you might be disappointed. From what I've heard, you'd probably enjoy the expansions more.

PigLick:The expansions are stand-alone(not dependant upon GTAIV to play)and much, much 'better' than vanilla IV. Especially Gay Tony. I dunno, I played them on console so I can't comment on the PC version's quirks.
I also think the series peaked with GTA: SA, and will probably never be able to top it.
