1. Skyrim. What more could an Elder Scrolls fan ask for?
57 decashitloads of features that were removed since Morrowind, probably.

Only one mention of Serious Sam 3 so far, TTLG doesn't like the series I take it?
That is easily my favourite game of the year, for the simple reason I only got two 2011 games so far; SS3 BFE and Dead Space 2, the former being a better game although DS2 is highly enjoyable as well. SS3 BFE is notable technology-wise, it is the most PC-y PC game I have seen in years. It actually has split-screen and graphics settings, can you imagine that?

You assume that since noone liked it enough to include on their top-list that we dislike it? It's a quite new release. I'd guess that a lot of people like the series just about enough to start thinking about picking SS3 up when it starts appearing in bargin bins in the coming months. That's how I feel about it, at least.

Koki, you don't like your own dick, I wouldn't expect you to understand.

Skyrim, for me anyway, is the good kind of dumbing down, i.e. removing bloated uselessness and streamlining the experience. I could never be bothered with Morrowind, mainly because of the sheer cliff of a learning curve. Skyrim is instantly accessible to just about anyone, and packages it up with a fantastic atmosphere to boot.
124 hours and all 50 achievements later, and it didn't ever stop being fun.
Deus Ex HR pips it to the post though - Skyrim never gave me chills down my spine.

What relevance does Dishonoured have to Skyrim? They maybe owned by the same publisher, but they're products of completely separate studios, with their own visions and game design philosophies. That's like saying you're looking forward to Mass Effect 3 after being impressed by the latest Madden.

Did you ever try it?

For me the best 2011 games were actually games from 2010 that I only got to play this year: Fallout New Vegas and Civilization 5. Currently Total War Shogun 2. While I havent played much besides, I put more than 1000 hrs combined into these.

I've got about 4-5 hours into Morrowind at least 3 times, and given up out of boredom and frustration each time. Yeah yeah yeah, apparently if I'd kept at it it would have become more forgiving and more interesting. I just don't have the patience.
