In march I started a extreme big T2 FM Video Project! I would say, you need much ambition and motivation to finish that project, but i will do that! I have played ALL the Thief 2 FMs which were released since thief 2 was released! I have not completely finished all FMs. Maybe that´s to much ;) But i looked in every FM! Dromed was a great help sometimes.
I always searched after the most beautiful and vividly places...exciting scenes, but also much action and funny stuff.
Sometimes i made extreme wide shots with arrows =) and sometimes i made a nice camera-flight with dromed...
I also have made some Walkthroughs through the full FM like "Ominous Bequest Gold" or "Under Templehill".
The complete videofiles have a size of 23 GB....don´t forget...the 282 files (full 7 hours playtime without cutting the best stuff!!!) are all compressed...uncompressed maybe 20 TB . If the project is finished....you will see a really fantastic T2 FM-Mix video what you have never seen before! also with fantastic music in the background. you can´t understand what it mean....to do this big job! but i have much fun and i have seen every thief 2 fm....that was really exciting and amazing for me!! I wondered what all you can do with the thief 2 engine! it´s amazing!! soon I will also release the Walkthroughs!
The rough cut is already finished. Background music is already selected. now it is time to choose the best stuff out of the 7 hours...
i´m working with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 x64...
What will we see in the video when it´s finished:
I think that's very versatile and varied. You will see fights, special objects, different weapons, many different creatures and city watch, beautiful and vividly places, big buildings, horrible ghost places :P camera flights and much more...
in the end i will release more than only one T2 FM Movie Trailer...
I will announce it here if i have some news...

Dang man, 7 hours, that's friggin huge! Any idea what the final playtime will be?
Gecko on 23/6/2009 at 09:40
Now I will answer your question...because the background music is completely finished (i love the music :D). The main video is about 26 minutes. It has several parts. Intro, action, horror...and extremely chill music. Together there are 12 tracks mixed (game & filmmusic). I will announce the music titels after the video release ;)
more news soon!

This project sounds extremely cool, very anxious to see the final product. And, I think it could be used as a selling point to EM for releasing an editor with Thief4.
If you need with distribution when it's done, I can host it over on Southquarter if you like.

It would be nice if you uploaded it to YouTube too.
I don't mean exclusively; just as an additional option.
If you sign up for 'director' status on YouTube, you can upload videos longer than 10 minutes. That way you don't have to break it up, or at least have it in something like 2 hour long chunks or however your video is naturally broken up.

Yea, that would be cool =)
@demagogue
I will upload it on Youtube with HD Quality :thumb:
The video rendering time of some clips takes very long...because the H.264 video clips which i selected must first be decoded every time from Sony Vegas. but i could not save all these vids uncompressed. Maybe for this you need more than 20 Terabytes =) This is annoying because my new PC is not the problem...lol
CPU: 4x3.20GHz AMD PhenomII X4 955 BOX Black Edition
RAM-Memory: 8 GB (Corsair)
windows vista x64...also Sony Vegas x64 :erg: but it goes on ;)

Any progress report to share with us? I know your probably working hard to get this finished right now, but you can't tell us about this wonderful project of yours and then just go silent about it now can you :) Soooooooo....
Personally I can't wait to see it. I've been wanting to play all FM's for a while now but real life and all that.... This would be a great way to catch up and see what I'm missing.
So maybe a word or two!?

i will not do this ;) The state of things is the following...
well...the Intro is completly finished. so this are the first 2 minutes of 26.
i´m also using the thief fonts in the video :)
you know the video will have different parts.
In the first part you will see many City FMs. this is what i do at the moment ;)
i can´t say how long it will take to finish the full project...but I will announce it here if i have any news :thumb:
But it´s motivating, if there are questions about The State of Things :D
i will do my best!

Could you give us a teaser picture, until we can see the final product?
