Just so long as he doesn't end up in Africa....

The website says it's going to be released this year...winter? Yet there still aren't any screen shots or trailers?
And I'd much rather play it on PC than a console...

The wheel of cheese had more holes in it than the body lying next to it, and smelt worse. If I had to guess it's a mature cheddar, sharp bite with a hint of salt crystal, and him? Two-bit skeeze who'd kill your gran before look at you, went by the name of Stitch but it'd take more than needle and thread to patch him up.

I'm up for another round of cheesy voiceover and moody b/w intermissions. but maybe they go innovative on us and introduce QTEs. or autoheal.

hahaha what's with the beard?
I'm going to be the voice of dissent and state that there really ought not to be a 3rd. Hear me out.
First, what good series has ever really been improved or done service to by tacking higher and higher numbers onto it? Few exceptions prove the rule. The best I can think of is Unreal Tournament and they sort of fagged it up with 2K9 or whatever the last one was. Max Payne was a self contained story, wrapped up nicely in MP2. A third is just... je ne sais quoi, but I'm leaning toward "unnecessary". It's sort of like painting your towncar bright gold. I mean you can, and it probably won't diminish the value of the car itself, but why would you want to?
Second, what's left? Everyone's dead by the end of MP2 unless it was the second ending that was canon and even then. See to me the Max Payne story works best if he dies at the end of MP2. I mean he was shot- in the head- at point blank- with a .50 caliber. I like to think the last couple levels of the game are him surviving just long enough on pure spite and adrennaline to finish off his revenge and then collapse once the cops get there, forever.
Third, and related to the above, just let the poor guy die already. Max really gets no respite. Everyone he knows dies, usually violently. All his friends either get killed or betray him (and then get killed). The man has nothing. His home is always attacked/blown up. His girlfriends keep trying to kill him, even the media treats him as a rouge cop on the run. Peace is always dangled in front of him and then taken away. And now they want to make him more bitter and cynical and angry at the world and fuck him again. Jesus Christ they're turning him into Det. Hartigen from Sin City. I envision the end of MP3 to be him shooting himself in the head because he's been falsely accused (again) of some henious child crime.
Just the press release itself almost sounds like a focus group meeting. You can practically hear the script pages turning.
"Okay we need Max to be grittier. He needs more grit. You know that scary voice I do like this? LIke there's gravel in my throat? I want the game to sound like it's talking like this. We need as much grit as possible, he has to be really gritty."
The end result of which is a film grain effect and the ability to blast off heads and limbs with the correct calibre.
I don't think Max needs a third. I think the story works great if, as above, he's killed his thousand people, loved, lost, loved and lost again, and then finds peace in death. The end should have been bang bang kill the bad guy, stumble to the dying woman, cheese cheese cheese, fade to black, sad song, credits. It's sadly sweet in that way and there's no need to embarass ourselves with that hahahah fukken BEARD.

When it comes to games? Lots. I'd actually go as far as saying "most". But yeah, I'm not sure how to feel about MP3. On the one hand the story is nicely wrapped up as it is. But on the other hand, Max is a great character and I like the idea of getting to spend another 8 hours with him.

Doom 3.
And Scots, those would be much more effective if you would improve your grammar.

I know you're not going to like this, AR, but I've latched onto this because I like this concept A LOT. I could get a lot of mileage out of a Max Payne that eschews the games of before (a little, not entirely) and actually evolves the character and gameplay into darker territory.

Maybe Bale can do bring his B-game voice to the table?

Don't be upset, I can't grow one either. :(

Sorry, I say them aloud when I write them so I don't correct them for English and sometimes things just flow differently that way. Also, Christ, I toss 99% of my posts off in about 5 seconds I barely proofread much less edit for grammar. I go for the one shot kill, or maim.
