I accidentally gas-bombed a cat.:tsktsk:
I haven't listened to the sound FX for the cat, but it wouldn't surprise me if they came from a sound FX library. Hollywood's been using the same half-dozen angry/scared cat sounds for decades. I have no doubt that animals were hurt to get those sounds back then. And when you recognize the same sounds in a horror movie were used in a Disney movie, it kinda ruins the mood. The meows could be anybody's cat since they're easy to record when you've got an open can of wet cat-food and it's "din din, Morris...!"

DrK had really wicked cat sounds in his Rocksbourg FMs. Irritating and spooky at the same time.

No, hurting innocent animals is not ok.
Taking out the female servant is not that tough. You can do it easily enough without touching the cat.

many of you have played thief 3 and probaly noticed a cat in a few area,i was wondering the differnt way you tryed to kill it
for example the 3 step program is learning the cats pattern then laying a mine then putting a oil slick in front of that
and i also wonder whos cat got to do the sound effects, and how did they pull off the death sound without killing cat
What's wrong with you?

Self defence? You were about to get clawed to death by a bloodthirsty cat? C'mon. :tsktsk:

I accidentally stepped on a cat (in Deus Ex) on many different occasions. Now that's trauma.
When I played TDS for the first time, I got the impression the cat was actually trying to rub me, just like friendly cats do. I guess it must be one of those one hundred clues one's been keeping feline company for too long.

Like I said before, knocking out the female servant is not that difficult at all. There's certainly no need to kill the cat to do it. I'd say that having to kill a cat in order to finish a mission is even more detrimental to Garrett's reputation than being discovered by a guard...
