I knotw this may seem like a stupid question but I came back to Thief 2 recently and suddenly remembered that the Watch had female officers. So why are they non-existent in Thief: DS. Any idea?Or was it another blunder made by Ion Storm.
Or could it be that the City Watch started discriminating against women like the Hammerites:D Just kidding.

Pure misogyny.

Someone kept blackjacking them and dragging them off into dark corners and closets, after which who knows what happened. When word got out about it, women stopped signing up for the City Watch.

I change my answer to Zapmeister's.

If I recall correctly, Looking Glass wanted to have female guards in Thief 1, but ended up cutting them out to keep memory requirements down (female guards require additional models, textures and voice clips). Maybe the same thing happened with Thief 3, since the game had to be crammed into the X-Box's 64 meg of RAM; perhaps they decided that overweight guards were a more valuable use of memory space.

I don’t know about anyone else but I feel a bit bad when I have to bash a woman on the head for whatever reason. I suppose I am a gentleman thief (fnar fnar). Killing them is a big No No to boot! :cheeky:

I Like Zapmeister's answer.
Unfortunately, every single woman in the game had to have a crush on our favourite anti-hero, and as such a female guard would have been a bit too... complicated.
Or the new sherriff's a sexist b***ard
Just my two coin.

How would they if they can't see him? :joke:

I'd say it is the fantasy of being with a man who is considered 'dangerous'. A lot of weird stuff turn women on.
Of course, like I said, it is just a fantasy.
Because if you are a woman with a 'dangerous' man, you are on an episode of COPS wearing a tube top, leaning out of a trailer home yelling, "lock is ass up! lock his ASS UP!"
But thats just my uh, two coin.
