This has a couple of hard acts to follow and the trailer doesn't inspire me in all honesty. Ledger was so good in the last one that as much as I like Hardy, and the choice of Bain, this is really going to have to pull out some stops to not be lame.
And by that I mean weak in comparison to the other two. I saw Batman Begins again not so long ago and it really holds up still. The only thing that bugs me about it is still the missing out of a potentially awesome fear-gas induced trip-out fight between Batman and Ras.
I must watch the second one again soon. After Grosse Point Blank.

It would be very surprising if Nolan somehow choked the third after producing two very impressive blockbusters

It's a teaser - not a proper trailer. If you're going to judge it on what it shows us, wait for the full reveal in the theatrical trailer. TDK had even less than filmed footage going for it in the teaser however it had the bonus of featuring the most anticipated villain of the franchise.
All that said, TDKR is an odd fish that I'm still not certain of. Too many elements in the mix so far, too many characters, too many villains (potentially, dependent on how they choose to interpret the characters). I like tying it to the previous movies thematically, the idea of Batman being a symbol and irrepressible and the fact that Batman could stand apart from what people wanted but be what it needed. If they can knot all that together with a good story and cast of characters that add the right level of depth, I'll be happy.
Nolan is awesome.

Am I the only one here who cannot stand super hero/comic book movies anymore? Seems they are just crammed down our throats, being released at breakneck speed with the overwhelming majority being mediocre at best. To each his own, but I have lost all interest in this and all others in the genre.

I think we have had a bit of a glut of them recently, yes, though in the end my interest waned enough and circumstances conspired so that I didn't actually go to see Thor, GL or X-Men First Class. I'm still very excited for Captain America oddly enough.

I think Batman stands apart from the slew of shitty Marvel movies, personally.

I'm iffy about this, not because I don't trust Nolan, he's done some fantastic films, but because there are so many stories about this one that feel conflicting. We've got Bane and Catwoman both, possibly Talia, and some more background on Ra's? That in itself seems like a lot. Plus, is Hugo Strange still in this, or was that just a rumour?
Plus we're setting up to be in a Gotham without Batman, and wrapping it up in some way that (presumably) Batman wins and Gotham doesn't need him anymore? (Unless they go with something like the Quantum Leap finale)

Grosse Point Blank.
I adore that movie.

There have been a lot of superhero movies lately, indeed it's been kind of an increasing trend for a while now. But from what I've heard the quality has been all over the map, with Green Lantern near the bottom and First Class near the top. I haven't actually seen that many myself this year; Thor was a good time, albeit succeeding more as comedy than anything else.

Quoted for the mofo'ing truth.
The new Batman films stand apart from the other superhero movies for me in much the same way as Alien and Blade Runner stand apart from all the sci-fi bs. Sadly you can't share this appreciation with me in regards to Blade Runner (but Alien perhaps?) but I'm sure you get what I'm trying to say.
