Hey there folks. I would like to request your help in a little survey to give us an idea what kinds of gaming rigs are running The Dark Mod version 1.02.
Things I would like to know.
1. CPU
2. Video Card
3. Ram
4. In game Screen Resolution
The tests:
Fire up Saint Lucia. It's a rather well optimized mission. Bring up the console 'ctrl alt ~', and type com_showfps 1
With your video settings set to
Ambient: Standard
Interaction: High Quality
Post what your FPS count is from this starting position

Ambient: Fast
Interaction: Standard
Post your FPS counts for the same two positions.
For anyone who plans to play the mod in the future on your current gaming rig, can you please still post the specs for that machine? All this information is very important for us to know how to approach some future graphic updates.

People should disable V-Sync, too.
And what about anisotropy and AA?

1. CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 (~3Ghz)
2. Video Card: ATI Radeon HD3850 (256 MB RAM)
3. Ram: 3 GB
4. In game Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024
5. OS: Win 7 x86
6. Other notes: AF:1x, AA:0x, Vsync is enabled - this is the reason why I get not more than 60 FPS
1st Shot with Ambient: Normal and Interaction: High Quality: 60 FPS
2nd Shot with Ambient: Normal and Interaction: High Quality: 30 FPS
1st Shot with Ambient: Fast and Interaction: Standard: 60 FPS
2nd Shot with Ambient: Fast and Interaction: Standard: 60 FPS

Thanks folks. Keep'em coming.
Pass it along to people who don't check the forum regularly if you can as well.
Remember, even if you haven't played the mod yet but intend to on your current machine...throw your system specs here as well.

1. CPU: Intel Dual Core E5400 (2.7GHz)
2. Video Card: ATI Radeon HD5770 (512 MB RAM)
3. Ram: 2 GB
4. In game Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024
5. OS: WinXP 32
6. AF:8x, AA:4x, Vsync is disabled
1st Shot with Ambient: Normal and Interaction: High Quality: 60 FPS
2nd Shot with Ambient: Normal and Interaction: High Quality: 57 FPS
1st Shot with Ambient: Fast and Interaction: Standard: 60 FPS
2nd Shot with Ambient: Fast and Interaction: Standard: 60 FPS
I have no idea why it doesn't go above 60.

I think some software caps frame rates at your monitor's refresh rate i.e. 50/60 Hz for LCD
The Elusive One on 5/9/2010 at 05:26
Here you go:
1. CPU: Intel Core i7 940, 2.93 GHZ
2. Video: Nvidia GTX280
3. Ram: 6 GB
4. Resolution: 1920x1200
5. OS: Vista x64
6. Other: AF: 16x, AA: 8x, Vsync disabled
Ambient: Standard
Interaction: High Quality
1st FPS: 63
2nd FPS: 63
Ambient: Fast
Interaction: Standard
1st FPS: 63
2nd FPS: 63
Don't know why it caps at 63 even with Vsync disabled.
Probably not a very useful result. :)

The "com_fixedTic" cvar can be used to remove the cap but at the expense of accurate physics. I am not sure whether the team cares about accurate physics as the uncapped performance results should show how many "spare" frames can be used for graphic passes. I will post results for both just in case (when I get some PC time @home :nono: )

Well, accurate physics are somewhat important...especially if a random item were to go bonkers and kill the player. lol
I'm only looking for results with the default com_fixedTic settings please. We can't officially support anything else.
