1. CPU: 3.16GHz Intel core 2
2. Video Card: GeForce GTX260 896MB (gainward)
3. Ram: 3,3GB (win xp 32)
4. Resolution: 1280x1024 4x 4x (refresh rate 60 HZ) <- I usually play with this settings
FPS: always 60fps, everywhere
1280x1024 16x 16x
Ambient: Standard
Interaction: High Quality
60
30
Ambient: Fast
Interaction: Standard
60
30 alternated with 40fps from time to time (maybe it's the smoke? the lights flickering a bit?)

I play on an Asus G50vt laptop from late 2008. It has a Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz cpu, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, Geforce 9800M GS. I use Debian 32-bit because I absolutely hate Vista. Performance is very good with com_machinespec 2 and 1024x768 resolution. I've never been a big graphics fanatic and haven't bothered with bloom/af/aa. It really is remarkable considering how little power a machine like this consumes compared to my last desktop that struggles to play TDM at 640x480 sometimes. :)

Can you post your frame rates though please, in the format displayed please? :) I need to be able to put together a rough map of where things are going.

Phenom II, triple core, 2.8 Ghz
Radeon 4890
4 gigs
1920 x 1080
I get 60 fps at those two locations, no matter what combination of settings I use for Ambient, Interaction, Vsync, etc.

1. CPU = P4 3.0Ghz
2. Video = Card HD4650 1024MB GDDR2 AGP
3. Ram =2GB PC3200 (DDR400)
4. In game Screen Resolution =1024x768
Ambient: Standard
Interaction: High Quality
Scene 1= 49 Scene 2= 33
Ambient: Fast
Interaction: Standard
Scene 1= 57 Scene 2= 38
(So uncapping wouldn't help in my case anyway... very CPU limited... but if the improvements are only affecting the GPU then I might still have the same FPS with them ;) )

I just tested the old P4 with a crappy Geforce 6200 card. Settings:
machinespec: 0(low)
interaction/other option: fast and standard
resolution: 640x480
no bumpmapping, no specular, no postprocessing
It gets about 30-40 fps on the map. I could turn off shadows to gain more, but that may break the gameplay. One thing that would be nice is if TDM had an option to increase all font sizes easily. This way, when you have to play in a low-res mode, things are very easy to read. Also, for those who have to play with postprocessing turned off (no fancy water), the water is then invisible. It would be useful to have some water texture so the player can tell it is water.

Sorry, I really hate to nag but for me to use this feedback I really need to know what your results are with the settings I requested, not with bump mapping and specular turned off. I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of performance people are getting with the current vanilla settings because we have been working with someone from the Doom 3 modding community to update the visuals of TDM. We need to know what types of results people get with the current vanilla settings, if they can run the enhanced features and if they can't...which performance settings do we keep. :)
This is exactly how I need the settings listed...with bump mapping, specular turned back on...and anything else you may have cut to save a few frames.
Ambient: Standard
Interaction: High Quality
1st location FPS =
2nd location FPS: =
Ambient: Fast
Interaction: Standard
1st location FPS =
2nd location FPS =
It sounds like you might achieve around the 15 fps mark with specular and bump mapping turned back on.
Thanks in advance.

I have not played yet, but intend to reinstall Doom3 at some point so I can.
1. CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2ghz
2. GFX: ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 3850 w 512 MBs ram (AGP)
3: RAM: 2GBs
4: I will be playing at 1024x768
5: OS: Win XP Sp3
My system is old, but it's what I've got to work with for at least a few more years.
