It takes less effort to offer correct information than to ignore it and take chances. All mentions should have accurate information, regardless of the person's personal opinion of it.

Well Chade, I see you're pretty entrenched here. Mod team members are telling you they feel its a misrepresentation and the reasons they don't like it and you don't care.
I agree that the following statements on the blog clarified things a bit, but really only for people who already knew. That guy was spectacularly uninformed and his grasp of the clear written word is anything but stellar. I'll wager he's a kid but regardless it needed sorting out for reasons New Horizon has stated. End of.
This reminds me of the corrections I had to request from RPS when the was first mentioned on the page. I told Keiron about it and he put a post up. I then had to email him again pronto to tell him where he had made mistakes! Even the professional journos get it wrong sometimes.

In any event, I doubt anyone would have read that blog post unless clearing had found it first. On the main page, only that post has comments.
I probably would have found it a bit later. I'm usually snooping around for TDM articles to see how it is being received. ;)

Nothing wrong with a bit of ego-surfing now and then. :sly:
Plus it's a great way to find citations of your work if you work in research, so it's kinda mandatory for us. :p

Can the color of the light reflected off a bump-map be adjusted, or is it just taking the texture colors and gradating them according to the light-source color?
Apart from the other replies, if there's a chance you're asking or needing this, my very late reply: you can have colored specular maps. This causes the appearance of light being reflected based on the material's color.

Well, I don't think anyone is actually
passionate about out little argument as such ... it's more that we keep finding stuff to talk about.
Anyway, I can see that Springheel is understandably getting sick of me polluting his thread with this issue, so that's good enough for me! :joke:

After the first 'tarded defense, it was instantly no longer about the molehill...
But anyway...
May 2010 be the year TDM is finally understood and embraced for what it is!

From what I've heard about some of the larger missions that are currently in the works and all the new additions and fixes in the next version release I really don't think it'll be long until the naysayers are quietly thieving in shame with TDM ;)
