There actually is a public thread for each of the three FMs...are you saying the link didn't work? Odd.
I know the forum was hidden from the public before release...maybe in the excitement we forgot to unhide it?
I got that error even though I have access to most of the hidden forums, so yeah, it's still hidden. :)

For the bug hunting:
On WinXP, Radeon 4890 with newest driver, it always crashed after the map loading phase just before entering the map; however, deactivating sync in the graphics menu made it all function flawlessly.
Having played 30min in the tutorial simply made me fall in love with what you achieved.
In my part of the world its almost morning and I have to catch at least a little sleep for now. It will be sweetened by knowing that darkmod is mighty fine.

If a water arrow doesn't work, it's because you've missed.
If your lightgem is totally dark, they cannot see you regardless of where you are. If it's lit up, then yes, they will see you in the rafters.
Whatever. What, you want me to post a video of what I am seeing in one room in particular? It's true some of the tools do work a bit different than what we are used to, others are still much the same, such as the light gem. I've been a Thief addict for nearly 10 years, I think I know the concept of a light gem by now, or if a water arrow is a hit or miss:erg:
No more constructive criticism from me. I thought the purpose of playing a beta was to provide that type of feedback. I guess not; some people will just insult you and call you a liar or an idiot. I don't need that right now, thanks anyway. Every thing in this release 100% bug free.:erm:
For what's it's worth, I didn't notice the same things on the other missions.

If you have a video of AI seeing you even when your lightgem is dark, then yes, I would be very curious to see it.
A screenshot of the torch from your position just before firing at it would probably be enough.

LOL! Can the guards actually call elevators?
I'm playing Chalice of Kings and decided to evade some pursuing guards by jumping on the delivery elevator and going up. But as I was going up, someone pressed the button and it started moving down again!
I pressed "up" again, and again it was countered! Eventually I got away by mantling onto the next level while the elevator was in transit.
Pretty cool if the guards can try to catch you by bringing the elevator back down.

I can confirm, this has happened for me on Outpost. Also, watch out for the guards that relight doused torches! ;)

Try hitting slightly above the torch.
Really? This was my usual spot in
Thief, and I felt like it was the reason for most of my early misses in TDM. Once I started aiming for the wood of the torch instead of the flame, I seemed to do much better. But maybe it's because I'm not quite used to the new bow yet.

I got really excited when I saw this up, but I haven't been able to get the training mission to run. It'll load the mission, then when it gets done, it says 'please wait game is about to start', and never moves onward (it doesn't say doom3 is not responding either)
Wormrat on 18/10/2009 at 05:55
The mission still has a decent bit of loading to do once it gets to that message. It was at least 30 seconds on my high-end system, and other people in this thread have reported several minutes worth of waiting. Just let it sit for a while before you give up on it--make a sandwich or something.

Is there something wrong with inventory scrolling? "[" and ]" are the inventory scroll keys, but only ]" works for me. "-" scrolls the opposite direction like "[" should, but then shows a smaller list of items.
I also noticed that guards did tend to walk around in circles a lot during Chalice of Kings. I'm sure AI is the hardest issue to deal with since there are so many factors that go into it.
On the plus side, the Dark Mod is simply amazing, and one thing that really jumped out at me was the lockpicking. It's skill-based, but done in a way that only really requires your patience after you master it in the tutorial. Not giving it some separate interface like TDS or Oblivion, and making it depend on either having a visual or auditory response from the lock (so that you may have to disable external noises), was a stroke of genius.
I liked the old school command prompt updater, it worked and looked great (got everything in about 30 minutes). Will future updates of The Dark Mod be done in tinier increments through the same updater, replacing older files?
The Dark Mod: [=======================] 100% satisfaction!
