Just out of interest - is there any way of knowing how many times TDM has been downloaded so far? It would be interesting hear.

The torrent I'm seeding says it's been completed 199 times so far.
how many times it's been download with the updater is only known to the TDM team.

Congrats, guys. :thumb:
Unfortuantely I won't be able to play this for a while, but I look forward to doing so ...

I was getting the Runtime error, so I installed the 1.3.1 patch - now I still get the error when running DM and get a "wrong game DLL API version" error when starting regular D3.
any ideas?

I just finished playing through all the available missions. I have to say you guys did a great job - sure, there are a few rough edges here and there, but this is a terrific mod you've put together.
Once you create a shortcut that loads the mod at startup, there's nothing to suggest it's Doom III and not a full fledged Thiefy game other than the "mod" in the title.
It was a great way to spend the evening, and I can't wait to see what people build with it in the future.

Finished the training mission, smack bang job guys! Yeah i had one CTD which i dont know the cause of (it was a few hours of uninterrupted play and i hadnt saved!) and fighting, while great one vs one, is a bit of a cluster with multiple opponents. Unlike Thief, swinging weapons dont impact objects and other AI, which is what id have to say i miss most from Thief (it was lots of fun watching AI strike each other).
However these are golf balls before the Eiffel tower of your achievement here. Absolutely fantastic mod, spot on. Youve just made Thief 3; or is that UN-Thief3?

Actually the AI in TDM often accidentally hit and kill each other with their swords (at least they did a month ago; did they fix it?). I know they were talking about that as something we probably don't want because then it's easier to exploit; you could direct AI into each other and let them kill each other. I recognized that, but still sort of liked it as a sneaky way to get out of a bind. But all things considered it's probably better not to allow it as an exploit, and the overall game will be stronger for it. Guards in real life would take care not to hit their fellow guards.

It is possible to install the wrong 1.3.1 patch (yes, ID released two 1.3.1 patches, and some mirrors still have the older of the two). Try (
http://www.dramthethief.com/darkmod/files/DOOM3-1.3.1.exe) this patch and see if that works.

Yes, I recognise the truth in what youre saying. To allow weapons to swing into things and people would need an AI that avoids doing so etcetera all for little gain.
The bother i had with this aspect was that the guards stand very close to each other and you and swing away which is a reckless methodology. However, on the other hand the fighting is great one vs one and fighting guards is a stupid thing to do (especially multiple guards). So I wouldnt bat an eyelid if they never changed this at all. I could care less frankly, the mod is wonderful
