Hey - been fiddling around with the tutorial so far (GREAT work, by the way. Looks, sounds and feels awesome, extremely atmospheric, lots of fun!), but I have a question about key binds. I use the right CRTL key to crouch (i use TGFH rather than WSAD because.. well, it's better), and I prefer to use push-crouch rather than toggle crouch. Problem is, the right CRTL key seems to be automatically bound to be a strafe modifier, so that when crouched I can't look around because I start scuttling back and forth like a spazzy crab. I can't see the option to turn it off anywhere in the menu, is it possible to alter this within the .cfg or the console or something? Any help would be great.

PsymH: Using Thief assets separate from Thief FMs is prevented by copyright unfortunately. The Dark Mod team cannot sanction such use. What anyone else does is their business. The player character for instance is anonymous. We discussed different names but eventually decided to leave it to the FM maker. Outpost and Crown of Penitence are anonymous as far as I know. The player character in Thief's Den 1, 2, & 3 is Farrell. (see initial letter in Sam's message in Den 1 and the briefing and Mudgeon's log in 2.) FM makers can use that name or make up their own character or just leave it unsaid.
I think he was asking if he could use ambient sounds from TDM in Thief, which is ok in my book, as long as credit is given. There should be something along those lines in the license? I've nothing against people using the stuff I've made anyways.

The zombies is coming I can promise you that ;)
Can't wait!
And pagan missions with realistic environmental weather effects like fog, rain, snow... :sly:

A maybe strange question: Is it allowed to use some of the TDM assets for DromEd, especially some ambient sounds?

Stealth score is being redone - it is extremely strict at the moment. My record is 3 out of 10!
...
I also saw the "AI get his head "stuck" looking up and to the side" but we figured it was due to my noclipping and somehow he had locked onto me as a target but lost me when turned on notarget during testing. If you saw this in normal gameplay with no 'cheats' then we need to think again.
The chests are to be reviewed. The variations in FMs is because these FMs were begun at different times and the container code was being changed as we progressed. Some chests were left as working reasonably using an older method. You can imagine as we were making FMs the goalposts were being frequently moved and we had to redo many things. From now on, FM-makers will have it easier! ;)
Yeah, I saw the previous comments on stealth score. I was just kidding about that, I know it's gonna be changed. Hey, you've just given me an ego boost anyway - I scored 8 on Crown of Penitence on my first go. :D
I can't remember if mister stiff-neck was in my first or second playthrough of Chalice. I will go through my various saves and see if he's still doing it. But yeah, it was during normal gameplay with no cheats.
On playing Outpost again, I notice there's at least one chest of the "other" type in there. But yeah, my vote is for the lid-only type. :)
Oh btw... airship FM. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
yes, I have three thumbs.

Vivian: Yes, you can use Ctrl to crouch. Maybe you have two keys for Crouch? To clear the settings, select then press Esc and it should be empty. Now select again and press Ctrl.
The Dark Mod forecast is for rain, fog, and snow. Please dress appropriately. There's a stormy thundery rainy FM. A foggy night one. And I know snow has been used in one FM but I don't know what state it has reached. (the FM not the snow.)
I don't think you'll get your lid only chests generally piln. It's a bit odd trying to lockpick a lock on the side of a chest if only the lid highlights. It is possible to make the contents easily frobable but the FM maker needs to adjust as needed. Might be nice if the frobability bias of the chest body was reduced when the lid opens I guess. That is one option I'll consider when I review the chests.

Fidcal: thanks for the response! Yeah, Right CTRL already works as crouch, problem is it's also been bound to 'strafe modifier' in a way I can't seem to alter: There is no 'strafe modifier' in TDM's menu system as far as I can see. So my problem is not inability to crouch, it's that being crouched also involved being... uh, strafe modified. Any ideas?
It's the right CTRL / Alt Gr key, BTW. Not the left CTRL.

It works for me. What have you got under Strafe Left and right in the Movement menu?
